We arrived on Friday for a fun weekend at Disney. We were surprised to see such along line at check in. it was 6:45 pm and it took about a half hour before getting to the front desk. not really a big deal. the staff was nice and made our check in as quickly as possible. we booked a one bedroom villa and based on the photo they provide the unit was not the same. we were expecting a full kitchen and a much larger unit. instead, our unit was quite small and the kitchen was a kitchenette, half a kitchen, a very small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, 3 pans for cooking and a micro bake oven. the picture they advertise shows a full kitchen that's separated by a bar and four stools. also, the bathroom is separated from the master bedroom and there is no shower. you physically hose yourself down in the tub with a shower head connected to a hose. there is no place to hang it to shower hands free. The living room is a tiny room that is also part of the kitchenette. this room has a small round glass table with 2 chairs and also right in front of the couch a medium size oval table that takes up most of the space in the room. It has a wall in front of the couch that is one giant mirror to give the illusion of being in a bigger room. there are no WINDOWS in any of the rooms (except the master bedroom) there are 2 television sets both old but do work. (no flat screen here) now on the positive note, they do keep the place clean. however, my wife took out the plastic bag that contained the extra blanket and we immediately called for a new one due to the long hair that was visibly on the blanket inside the plastic bag. they did bring us extra towels and sheets when we asked. the grounds outside are kept well. I didn't mention any of this to management due to my short stay and itinerary for the weekend. however, if this stay would have been longer you can surely bet I would have ran to the front desk and asked to relocate. after this experience we won't be making plans to stay here again. There are many resorts that I have visited and all my reviews are honest. hope my review helps with your decision. Ask a lot of questions especially if you need a full kitchen.

We have stayed here a few times in Florida and we love it! Staff are very friendly. Food at the resort restaurant "Kenzies" was very very nice and pretty cheap. The golf course was excellent and well priced. There was a great range of pools and could order food from the restaurant which would be borough down to you at poolside. Just fab! It was very central and was only a short drive from parks and not too long from the Mall at Millenia. The apartment we have stayed in was very spacious, very clean and had great views of the golf course. When we return we shall stay here again. A brilliant holiday in a brilliant hotel.

This resort does not deserve all the negative reviews. The rooms were excellent and perfect for our family of five. Large spacious and located right near the smaller pool. As long as you factor in the cost of taxi to Disney every day, the shuttle times didn't suit us, this is still great value hotel and we would consider it again when planning a return to Florida. The restaurant food was lovely and kids entertainment team brilliant. If you need transport to/ from pools etc just ring reception and they come and ferry you around in golf buggys. If you need your room cleaning again just ring, and it is done within 24 hours .

Our family has stayed here many times. The rooms are spacious and clean. The kids love the pool. On weekends there are games and activities for the whole family. The resort is central to many Orlando attractions.

Room Tip: Arrive early, the line can be quite long around check in time.

The reports I read over the past 6 months of Mystic Dunes being dirty, outdated, rude staff and poor facilities....they are either made with expectations way too high to live by or they were made by liars.

I expected to get an apartment (we had 2 between 12 of us) that needed to be refurbished. We got an apartment that needed to be refurbished, but it was fine. Yes out dated and bit tired, but fine for staying in for the 2 weeks we went to Florida for. After asking different members of the staff, who by the way went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful, we found out that the refurbishing of the site is going on and will take a while, as the resort is MASSIVE!! Even with a tired apartment I would still rate it 3.5 out of 5. The second apartment our group had was refurbished and was lovely, 4.5 out of 5 easily. I wouldn't give it a 5 until I got Wi-Fi to my room. I could have got internet by the ethernet cable provided i our room but I only had my phone which I don't need the cable for and internet through the cable can only be bought on a daily or weekly basis. The Wi-Fi was free by the pool so I used that.

We used the gym, tennis/basketball courts and pools. All the rent charges for tennis rackets/bikes/balls/mini golf were very well priced. The golf course we played on 18 hole round on was amazing, although the greens were in poor repair and we were told that before we went out but it didn't detract from the beauty of the course.

The site is close to restaurants and shops (5 minutes in the car but just too far too walk).

The site was immaculate too, so many staff keeping it clean. Also plenty of shuttle carts ferrying people around the site, as I mentioned its massive so getting from pool to pool or room to pool is a bit of a trek in the heat!!

We didn't use the restaurant although all reports from other people were that it was nice, nothing amazing but value for money and the staff in there and in the golf club bar are really friendly and helpful.

I cant put a negative on the place at all. It looks and feels like a 4 out of 5 so that's what i'll rate it as. 5 out of 5 needs to have Wi-Fi to the room and a more personal touch in terms of staff and services like cleaning/rubbish collection. As it stands for cleaning you get the maids come once if you stay for 2 weeks (we arrived on Tuesday they came to clean and give new towels on the following Tuesday) if you want a more frequent service then you need to pay for that. For rubbish collection you put rubbish out at 9.30/10.00 am and its collected by about 11.00am, i'd like to have seen the bins emptied each day from your room (while you were out) about midday without having to do it ourselves. I also didn't like the fact that when you leave you have to put all linen and towels in the bath and set make sure all plates/glasses are clean before you leave, I'm not saying that to make out I'm lazy. I just think if the staff at the resort are going to make sure the apartment is clean for the next holiday makers then they may as well do those things to ensure they are done and not rely on the previous stayers. Not that I care but we found 3 dirty plates in the cupboard when we arrived. No big deal as we washed them before use, but it proves that their system doesn't work and it doesn't make you feel the place deserves a 5 out of 5.

One other thing to mention, we were never asked to go to a timeshare meeting or pick up a special gift by attending a meeting. We didnt see anyone else being asked either.

Room Tip: Just ask for a reburbished room, if you dant ask you do not get.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking to go to Disney or Universal. The rooms were very nice inside and location was great. We rented a vehicle which made things very easy. The outside grounds could have used some detail cleaning but overall a good experience.

We stayed in a one-bedroom unit while visiting Disney World Parks for a week in May 2013. Easy, hassle-free check-in. The grounds are beautiful. Went to a timeshare presentation but didn't buy anything. Clean apartment, ample towels, clean linens, very comfortable bed, washer and dryer, and nicely equipped kitchen. Tile floors were spotlessly clean. The jacuzzi-style hot tub in the bedroom worked great and was wonderful for soaking after a whole day of park-hopping. The TV's are the old CRT's, but this didn't bother us because we were rarely in our room. Our second floor room faced the pool where we were able to use the pool WiFi without having to pay extra to use the wired LAN. A car or rental is necessary when staying here in order to access the local Publix, restaurants, etc. The lack of in-room WiFi, absence of meet and greet or other social activities, and the rather aloof and sometimes abrupt staff result in 4 out of 5 stars. We would definitely return.
