the service was fair and our meals poor. I asked for a hearts of palm salad. The Palm was cross cut, hidden in a mound of uninteresting lettuce and when I found the bits of palm they were like cardboard. The cost $10.00. Credit to the waitress without saying anything she cut the charge to $5.00. The fish was totally uninteresting. The wine selection poor.
The bright spot was the dessert. We went twice because we couldn't believe the cooking had fallen off that much. It had! Not sure we will go back to the Island Hotel next year.

Great place! Owners are awesome. Seafood was fresh - must try the unique heart of palm salad! Very laid back atmosphere. Will be back again.

While they have a dining room, we chose to eat in the bar. The food was very good, atmosphere and staff great. An oasis from the hubbub of the wharf.

There are no posh restaurants in this laid back atmosphere, but the Island Hotel does manage quality food, good service and prices that won't bankrupt the budget. Their signature heart of palm salad was well worth trying. Clams and other fresh fish were well represented also. A full bar is available and the key lime pie was a nice way to end the evening. One major note, come early, the place closes at 9:00 just as the sidewalks are being rolled up for the night.

We have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed our meal. The bisque is awesome. The only complaint is our waitress told us last night they will no longer be serving bread. This is very unfortunate as the soup, escargot, etc. are amazing to dip bread into. Even if they charge you for it I really hope they won't get rid of bread completely. We also heard a gentleman at the next table over comment that he wouldn't be back if they got rid of the bread.
