“All in all a nice experience!”
Reviewed May 31, 2011

We had mixed reviews of our stay but all in all it was a good one. The staff is friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The location is a little out of the way we felt but like I said it was all in all a nice place. We would stay here again. Thank You!

Stayed at the Pirates Cove for only one night on and overnight motorcycle trip out of Daytona Florida. Booked room #4 right on the water. The place is affordable, clean, comfortable and the AC works great. If you don't like this place then you need to get your quaint meter re-calibrated. We loved it and will be back!

Excellent little find! I was hoping to find some of the Old Florida I remembered and this place was perfect! Immaculately clean, small cottage with a kitchenette, comfy bed and a screened porch that looked out on the bayou for one of the most beautiful sunrises I've seen in a long time! The staff was great. We ran late getting on our way so when I called to let them know, we were told it wasn't a problem. The office closes at 6pm, so they left a note on the door reminding me which cottage was our and the key was in the in the room! (Welcome to Cedar Key where the phrase of the day is "Laid back!) Our first morning we were greeted by Billy, the resident cat, who came in to the screened porch and proceeded to make himself at home on our laps while we enjoyed coffee and watching the fish jump.
We walked to "Town" stopping for some really good food along the way and since it's only a mile from Dock Street, it wasn't difficult to walk back after an evening out.
Will definitely be back!!

If you're looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place! Biker friendly, pet friendly-super clean and cozy with all the amenities. Its beautiful over looking the bayou. Rates are most reasonable-thats why we keep coming back each year and recommending it to our friends!

From the second you show up your made to feel like home. My gf and I stayed in #1 and had an awesome time. The cottage was super clean and everyone staying there was super friendly. I will definitely be coming back here, nothing beat the value of these cottages.

Pirates Cove was delightful. Our hostess Donna was personable and helpful, as was her assistant Noah. The cottage we stayed in (#7) was clean and bright, adjacent to the deck and included a small screened porch. We went out to the Rusty Rim for a very nice dinner, and returned to a quiet, cozy cottage, brightened up with hand painted murals. A truly lovely place to stay, we plan on returning soon! (I have recommended this to good friends who plan to be there next week...so we will follow up with their impressions!)

We enjoyed our stay at Cottage #6. The cottage was very clean and fresh, no musty odors. The bedroom had a sliding glass door looking out to the bay with wonderful views. Justin checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. Fresh towels were brought to our room every day, all though they told us there was no maid service.
There is only one canoe for six cottages, but we were able to use the canoe for a whole day, easily saving us $80 in canoe rental fees. The cottages are only 1/2 mile from town, so very easy to walk rather than drive to go out to eat or window shop.
This is not a luxury place, it is very basic but clean. Cute Florida decorating style. Down side, the beds were too soft for us, the water is hot, but not a lot of pressure.
