We arrived after trying hard to find the restaurant, which is part of a holiday complex and poorly signed. Once there we noticed all the tables were laid up ready but we were asked to wait whilst one which had just been vacated was cleared and relaid. This took ages as the receptionist doinf the job was busy chatting to other diners. The server told us the specials but omitted to tell us the prices, not very helpful. When the food arrived it was good, we didnt want a desert and ordered coffee. We were repeatedly told that our coffee was brewing but surely it doesn't take 20 minutes to brew two coffees? Overall we felt that the food was overpriced and the service was not at all what we would expect from a place which is clearly trying to move itself upmarket. If you are eating in Cedar Key there are better value places than The Island Room.
