Great atmosphere to spend a relaxing vacation in. Ms. Alice was a wonderful host. She and her staff prepared outstanding gourmet breakfasts. Every morning was something different but always included eggs, bacon or ham, and waffle or French toast. The coffee was very good, especially compared to what you get at a dinner. There are books and DVDs to borrow, bottomless cookie jar and tea and hot chocolate avail 24/7. The 500 yr old oak and lush landscaping added much ambiance with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the garden. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms very clean.
Only cautions are that sound does travel in this historic house so don't plan on too much late night partying. You do get some kitchen noise in the morning through the wall if you're staying in the Summer Kitchen. The TV in the Honeymoon Cottage was very small but Alice is in the process of upgrading it.More
