A friend and I were on a road trip through the south..we came across The Old Carrabelle Hotel randomly and found that the reviews were very nice. We arrived at the house late in the evening, and found our keys and instructions quickly. The house is lovely, and the owners are attentive and kind. The bedroom we stayed in was called "The Captains Quarters." It was located downstairs, and was exceptionally clean and comfortable..We opted for the breakfast vouchers that they can tack onto the price of the room...the breakfast is approximately 5 minutes away via car, and is a splendid little place all in itself...

Overall, I had a very relaxing night in the Old Carrabelle house, and would surely stay again if I was to find myself in the area...Thanks!

We had never heard of the town of Carrabelle (on Florida's "Forgotten Coast"), let alone the Old Carrabelle Hotel, but somehow we stumbled upon them on the Internet and decided to spend four nights there as part of a two-week driving trip south. The town, frankly, leaves something to be desired. It is even more humble than we'd expected - a great harbor and miles-long beach (although we were not there during beach season) but few other "attractions". No interesting shops, no quaint streets to stroll, no nightlife whatsoever, no cafes to hang-out in, altho there were a couple of decent seafood restaurants. We'd wanted quiet. We'd wanted to avoid condo congestion. We didn't wall-to-wall tourists. But Carrabelle was a bit too modest, even for our off-the-beaten-track tastes. HOWEVER, the Old Carrabelle Hotel was worth the stay. Skip and Kathy have rehabilitated this wonderful old place to shining beauty. There are only five guest rooms, plus a charming parlor and Monkey Bar. The rooms are very tastefully, creatively furnished, and have all the amenities one would want. The verandas are perfect for quiet reading or a chat. Evening in the parlor was cozy, and we met some interesting guests as well. Skip and Kathy are excellent hosts. Apalachicola, 20 miles west, had the charm that Carrabelle lacked, and oysters, oysters, oysters. Couldn't get enough.

Just got back from 4 days on the Forgotten Coast, 2 in Carrabelle and 2 in Apalach.
The Old Carrabelle Hotel is quite nice; quiet rooms, comfortable beds, nice amenities.
Skip and Kathy are excellent hosts.

After viewing this place online, I called and booked a room. My husband and I wanted a nice, quiet place to enjoy our anniversary and that is exactley what we got. We stayed in the magnolia room, which was decorated really pretty..loved the color used in the room. Just outside our room was a door going to the porch where we had drinks at night and our coffee in the morning. Although you don't have breakfast there, the owners give you a voucher to use at 2 Al's restaurant. Our breakfast both days was really good. Skip, the owner was really nice. We enjoyed our chats and his helpful advice of the area. The only thing I would change is that there could be a small refrigerator in the room. I hate lugging a cooler around. We would definately recommend this place to our family and friends !

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel through a website called airbnb and were so glad we did. From arrival until departure we had the best 24 hours the house was so romantic and made me feel as though I truly was in the south of America. We went to the carrabelle beach in the evening and had a picnic and then my boyfriend proposed at sunset. So carrabelle will stay in our hearts forever and we will defiantly be back.
