This young (3 weeks old) restaurant is part of teh Fords Garage chain. Frankly, I expected more.

Our drink orders were wrong, and by wrong I mean we got the wrong drink 5 times in one luncheon setting. First, my guest ordered an unsweetened ice tea. He got someting so pale as to be unrecognizable. When he complained to the waitress, he was told "we're out of unsweetened tea". A little odd, since it was 12:00 noon and the restaurant was only 40% full. Oordered an Arnold Palmer, with sweet tea since they were out of unsweetened. I got a) an Arnold Palner b) a lemonade (first refill) c) a ginger ale (2nd refill)...and then my friend got a lemonda for his iced tea refill.

Servers seemed poorly trained, indifferent, and frankly..intellectually challenged.

Lunch ( a junbo hot dog, one appetizer, and two non-alcoholic bevs) was $24. Pricey.

“trasffic and prices”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

some how this business got special authorization to shanghi 50 prime parking spots at the Yacht Club. Regular beach goers and pool users and yacht club users are expected to park up to a 1/4 miles from the beach so this private restaurant can cater to their customers. In addition, this private use for parking chargeswasn't in the original bidding for the use of the city's property. In addition, the old place had a very inexpensive menu for the family, the new menu is favorable to the drinkers but not a family of four. Shame on City Hall

“At last, great waterside dining in Cape Coral”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

The Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill opened just before Memorial Day weekend 2014 in the Yacht Club and Beach location of Cape Coral. The Tiki Bar is located next the municipal pier right on the Caloosahatchee River, with fantastic waterside views. There is a municipal dock and fuel dock conveniently located adjacent to The Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill.

As a Tiki Bar, you'll be dining out doors, so don't expect air conditioned comfort, but the breezes, natural or man made, keep you comfortable as you dine on a great selection of food and drink.

I had the Cuban sandwich, while not "traditional" it was Excellent. My Colleague had the Conch Salad and was very happy with the dish. We had crab cakes as a starter and they were well prepared and flavorful. As this was a business lunch (yeah, that's life in Florida, a business lunch in shorts and boat shoes) we didn't have opportunity to try out the bar, but the Freshly brewed Iced tea and "Arnie Palmer" style tea were both good and Wren, our server, kept the glasses full.

Staff was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable of their menu.

Only two small downsides give this 4 out of five rating. 1. Parking is not convenient, especially as this is located in a public park, unless you want to shell out for valet parking in what used to be free public parking in the park. So expect a short walk. 2. The height of the railing blocks the views if you sit at a table, The railing seating and bar seating are on tall stools so the views there are great.

Overall this is a fantastic addition to Cape Coral's dining scene. So drive, bike, walk or sail on over! Boaters, expect crowded piers on weekends and holiday. Located near Redfish point on the Caloosahatchee bear north between Markers 78 & 78A, stay in the channel to avoid shoals.

“New Bar and Grill in place of the Old KC's is open and very nice”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Popped in to the new tiki at the Cape Coral Yacht club on Monday morning. The bars (2) are really nice and have a great view of the beach and river. The breakfast menu is quite limited and uninspired but tasty. Service was excellent and prices not bad. Maybe they will tweak breakfast once they get an idea of the demand. This is more of a afternoon/evening spot and we will probably try them again for a Ford's burger and fries. They have the same ownership as the Ford's Garage Restaurants for those who didn't know. Parking was no problem and at this point in the year (summer) there is no need to use the valet service. I think they should only offer that during season when it will be more problematic. They also did a good job making the whole place
ADA compliant and even have a wheelchair lift to get to the upper tiki. Good addition to the south Cape!
