Five adults rented one of the new BBQ Donut Boats in Cape Coral. We were able to bring aboard a cooler with food and drinks. The owner met us at the boat and explained how everything worked and gave us maps to follow. The charcoal grill in the center of the boat was all set to go--all we had to do was light it and allow the coals to get hot. We grilled Wisconsin brats and had a great three hours on the water puttering around. However, there was one serious flaw. After we grilled our brats, there was no way to put out the coals, of course, so they just continued to burn and to create an eye-irritating smoke that continuously wafted from under the grill cover as the boat is designed that you all sit in a circle around the grill. We were all heavily smoke-scented by the end of the three hours. I think if we rented the boat again, we would skip the grilling--as lovely as grilling on a boat sounds--and take along Mario's hero sandwiches along (from Mario's Italian deli in Ft Myers). The smoke was really annoying, and we all had to take showers and change from the clothes we wore on the boat.
**TIP: We used a Groupon for this. Check to see if they are still available to purchase for this attraction.
**TIP: We all had to use the restroom within the 3 hours we were out boating, so we tied up at Rumrunner's Bar and used their facilities.
