A veritable treasure trove about the creation of Cape Coral in the late 1950s and early 1960s. This "mail order" subdivision of 340,000 lots (yes, you read that right) was promoted like no other. The museum also has displays of life on hardscrabble Redfish Point before it was transformed with over 400 miles of man made canals. I was also interested in info in other developments by the same company and the museum curator graciously shared their files with me. Run by volunteers who clearly love this part of the state. They also have a collection of books and DVDs, etc., for sale. More of an "adult" museum than would interest children. If you're interested in Florida history this would be ideal for you.
