The Fish Tale Grill is new to Cape Coral. Merrick Seafood is not. The Fish Tale Grill was opened by Merrick Seafood about five months ago. At that time they only served lunch. We dined there for dinner after they started serving in the evening for just a week.
What a treat. Great food, wonderful service and absolutely beautiful decorating in the expanded dining area are found here. Please see the pictures I have posted from this visit.
First the service; Darla, our server, could not have been more accommodating and helpful. A delightful experience with a server that knows how to care for her guests. She was there for us when we needed her and not intrusive during the meal.
Second; the décor. Very appropriate decorations for a seafood establishment. Metal sculptures of schools of fish and panels that made me picture pure white sand on the ocean floor. A large sea turtle and many individual fish decorations. The predominant color is blue with furniture and lighting following this theme. The is an electronic wall unit that looks like under sea at times and then a fireplace. Very well done.
Then the food… magnificent. We were a party of three. We enjoyed a shrimp cocktail and oysters Rockefeller for appetizers. Please see the picture I have posted of the shrimp cocktail. Both were very good and lovely presentation. For main courses we dined on a Mixed Grill of steak and shrimp, fish and chips and bourbon salmon. Pictures of all are posted. All three were very tasty and again a beautiful presentation. We also had the lobster bisque that was very rich with large pieces of lobster meat in each cup.
Merrick Seafood has been a favorite of ours for years as a fine source of seafood to prepare at home. This addition is great. This is a top notch seafood establishment.
Very highly recommended.
