What a wonderful stay we had. We especially loved the pool, which was warm and inviting. The owners and staff really make you feel at home. Kayaks and bikes were available for use although we so enjoyed the pool we didn't make time for other activities this trip. Already looking froward to next year's visit to this quaint, quiet, and cute hotel.

Room Tip: We chose the economy room, which was fine for the two of us, but next year we will upgrade in case w...

My husband and I and two friends stayed two nights on the end of a March camping trip. This is an older hotel complex on one of the canals. The room was adequate, but not fancy, with a small kitchen outfitted enough to cook, living room and bedroom. Two of us slept on the sleeper sofa, which could have been more comfy (but, hey, it's a sleeper sofa). The carpet looked as if it could use a good cleaning, but otherwise the room was clean. The highlight was actually the large deck across the back of the property. Yes, it's a "community deck" and each room does not have its own private balcony/deck. But, the deck was comfortably set up with tables and outdoor furniture and overlooked the canal. One night we picked up some fish from Merrick's seafood and grilled and ate outside. The BBQ is really nice, with a flat top and burner in addition to the actual grill. We also took the paddleboat out for a spin and explored the canals a bit. Merrick's is maybe a dozen blocks away and they have some of the most beautiful seafood we've seen. They also have a restaurant, where we had lunch our last day. Excellent food! Mark and Linda at the Hideaway were both very personable and helpful.

20 unit Family owned Motel. Close to residential area as well as shopping areas.

We did get a larger room with 2 very comfortable Queen sized beds as well as a Queen sized pull out sofa. I really appreciated all the hangers in the closet which is rarely seen at a hotel. It was also nice to have 2 closets.
The kitchenette was great with a smaller (but more than adequate) Refrigerator, Stove, Coffee maker, Toaster and was fully stocked with Dishes/Pots and Pans.

Shower Water pressure was good and water was nice and hot.

The living room had very comfortable furniture consisting of a Sofa, Love seat and chair. Lighting was more than adequate and TV was good.

The back patio is something to see as it is on the canal. Others (who awoke much earlier than I), actually reported seeing a Manatee out back!... A BBQ grill is available as are many tables and you can choose to sit in the sun or under the shaded portion of the HUGE deck.
If you have a Boat, there is room to dock for up to three boats.

The pool was just over 6 feet and nicely heated. I felt it was a bonus that the pool was open after dark since most hotel pools close fairly early.

Laundry is available as well, but bring quarters and your own laundry soap, which can be found within a mile at the Publix grocery store.

Of the 3 hotels we stayed at, this was by far the best and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a family experience or a more private couples experience. I did stay here once last year and liked it so well, I came back again!

Linda, Mark and their son, Kyle, do all they can to make your stay comfortable. Linda even found some safety pins for my Teens bathing suit!

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and get a LOT more! You won't be sorry!

What a treasure.

We were concerned that the Fort Myers area might be a bit crowded for us as a family traveling with a toddler during spring break. We are thrilled we found this small hotel: the view of the water is beautiful, the sand behind the hotel was perfect for toddler fun, and the pool never had more than a few people in it. The hammock and seating areas are wonderful for sitting outside by the water. We loved having a two-room suite for a price lower than any single rooms at the chain hotels in the area. The pictures posted here are very accurate; it is not a fancy, brand new hotel....but if you want cozy, quiet, and friendly, the Hideaway has more than you need. If we are back in the area, we will definitely return!

Room Tip: We had a second floor room, which allowed for a wonderful view of the water.

We were surprised how much room we had. Large sitting area, very well equipped kitchen and a roomy, if a little dark, bedroom. The kitchen was so well equipped we ate in for two nights running, a first for us on holiday. One thing stopped me giving it top marks was that our room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, which to non smokers is off putting. We enjoyed our stay though.

Lovely place to spend a few days. The owners Linda and Mark were extremely gracious and we found this lower price resort better than most which cost twice as much. We'll certainly return. Go and enjoy!

This is the third time we have stayed here. Mark and Linda and their staff made us feel so welcome. This is a quiet haven just a few blocks from all the businesses and restaurants. It is not far from different beaches. A great place to relax and enjoy a Florida vacation.
