German cuisine is underappreciated in this country. Good, solid food that satisfies everytime! Who doesn't like hearty sausages and strong beer?!
We were very pleasantly served by the son of the family who presented us with wonderful plates prepared by his mother, Chef Susen, and presided over by his father, the Duke, who made sure everything was satisfactory. A great family experience that made us feel like we were at home in Deutchland. All we needed to complete the picture was an oom-pah band but entertainment was provided with TV screens that appeared to show programs taped in Germany.
It was great fun. The Grillhaxe, which I've always called schweinhaxe, was absolutely terrific and a bargain at only $16.50. Whenever I find this special dish, it's usually only available on 24 hour notice and usually costs about $25. Don't miss it. Gemuchlichkeit!
