Yes, you read the title correctly, and this is the ONE review you're going to want to read. My stay at this hotel was absolutely phenomenal. I had such an amazing time, and the staff was definitely there to make it a more enjoyable one.
Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted by an extremely friendly Valet Operator, he immediately introduced himself to our party, and called in the front desk that our family had arrived. He then escorted us to the front desk, and introduced us to the front desk clerk who then checked us in. Once that was complete, the Valet Operator was done loading up our luggage onto a luggage cart and escorted us to our room. Upon arrival to the room, we were absolutely shocked. The room key reader is not your typical one. You simply "tap" it against the black sensor and the door unlocks.
The hotel is also "LEED Certified" meaning that during the building process and in the majority of the features in the hotel, it is very eco-friendly.
Once you enter your room, you're prompted to insert your room key into a slot. That powers the lighting and air conditioning in the room. If the key is not in the slot, you will not have AC or electrical. It's an excellent way to conserve energy. The AC will not work, either, if you have the balcony doors open. We had a two-bedroom suite, the amount of space in the room was absolutely incredible. The design was gorgeous, the flat screen TV's, the stainless steel appliances, granite and marble countertops were all amazing features that added to the rooms excellent quality.
We found out about their New Years' Eve event, and went. The price was a little steep considering the food served, but it was still an amazing night that I will never forget. The live band that was performing was great, there was an open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and an incredible fire works show.
The hotel's two restaurants, Marker 92 and The Nauti Mermaid were great as well. Marker 92 has a very business casually loungy feel to it, with an adjoining sports bar. The Nauti Mermaid is the pool/marina outdoor restaurant/bar. The food is amazing, I highly recommend the burger, sweet potato fries, and Chinese BBQ ribs.
The hotel had plenty of amenities. Shops, spa, pool, nature walks, and complimentary bike rentals. We took the bikes and went up and down "Millionaire Row" the amazing mansions in the area, and we went up into the nature trail, that was great, too. The fantastic weather to accompany the bike ride helped, too!
The hotel's staff was simply incomparable to any other resort that I've stayed at. Something that really impressed me was that upon check-out, the valet operator was the same one that checked us in, and he remembered our names... 5 days later!
if you're a social media savvy person, be sure to use it to your advantage! Although they aren't on Twitter, (not sure about Facebook) and you have a Foursquare, be sure to check-in at the hotel's restaurants if you go. You can get special perks, like free appetizers and free drinks. (If you know anything about Foursquare, I'm mayor of the hotel, and both restaurants ;-) )
If you're looking to do some shopping, I highly recommend the Miromar Outlets, they have excellent sales. TIP: Go into the Timberland store, and request the VIP Savings Booklet, where you get additional savings on top of the "outlet store" prices!
The hotel does NOT have wireless internet, however they have wired internet for free. The business center is nothing to shake a stick at, but it gets what you need to do done. The gym is pretty good as well. The pool is rather small, but I hear that as a guest you have access to the Recreational Center adjacent to the resort and there is a better fitness center and pool there.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a weekend, or week getaway. The views are spectacular, and the amenities in the hotel are phenomenal. I will definitely be going back as soon as possible!
