“Excellent property; OK location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2012

We booked this reservation with Travelers Advantage Network (TAN). This is buy far the best property and best equipped kitchen we've experience so far. The one-bedroom units do face south, so the outdoor balconey is in the shade for the afternoon and evening - a little chilly with the breeze in the winter months - just a consideration if you expect to dine outside a lot.

Outside of the room, the pool area is pristine - absolutely beautiful. We even saw dolphins swimming in the harbor. The restaurants on site where all terrific. The servers where top notch and the food was good. At dusk, peskey no-seeim (sp?) bugs come out and their bites can take months to heal - be prepared with a little bug spray while you enjoy the sunset.

As for the location being just "ok" for a weeklong stay. Cape Coral doesn't have much going outside of the local Elk Club; there isn't really a town center. You need to drive to Ft. Myers or Naples if you are looking for activities, theater, or decent shopping. Plan to bring some good reads and sit by the pool if you are not up to drive 30 minutes to find a little culture.

Logistics:
Marina Village is closest to the Fort Myers Airport. It is about 25 minutes away without traffic. The most direct route requires that you cross the Cape Coral causeway - a $2.00 toll gate going into to Cape Core - no charge for East bound traffic going to Ft. Myers.

Upon check-out we were able to drive, fill up with gas, return a rental car and check our bags at the airport in about 45 minutes. The airport is small and easy to get in and get out off. For Costco members, there is a Costco on the way to the airport (Daniels & Cleveland) where the gas is typically 15-20 cents cheaper than other in town choices.

Sanibel Island is about 30 minutes away and there is a $6.00 toll (one-way). Driving the stretch of the Island will take another 30 minutes.

Pine Island is about 20 minutes away and no toll required. There are some quaint little art shops and restaurants on the island and ferry service to Cabbage Key where you can order a "cheese burger in paradise".

What to do:
Dine at the Marina Village. The on premise Nauti Mermaid and Marker 92 are some of the best dining choices in town.

Shop and dine at Cape Harbor. It is a quick 5-10 drive and the nice views from Rum-runners Restaurant are worth it. The service and wine selections are excellent. I can also recommend the Gelato at Runagrounds in the same complex.

Go to Esterra Spa at the Marina Village for some pampering. Recommend a facial with Joanna - she's excellent and served me a mimosa before my treatment. The rates for facials are resonable and there is no pressure or pitch to buy products.

Where to buy Groceries/Fresh Fish to stock your kitchen:
Publix is the main grocery store chain in town with several locations nearby in Cape Coral. Good - not expansive choices of produce and food. Wine department is geared to budget buys.

Merrick Seafood is an excellent place to pick up some fresh fish and ready-to-cook prepared fish.1229 SE 47th Ter, Cape Coral, FL

Buy fresh shrimp off the boats at Trico Shrimp Company in Ft Myers. They will give you easy cooking instructions for your peel n eat shrimp. If you plan to go here near the end of your stay, bring some shrimp home! This place will pack the shrimp for you. We purchased head-on jumbo Gulf shrimp in the middle of Dec for $9.99/lb.

Room Tip: Two bedroom units are more likely to have sunny exposure throughout the day.

At first we were a bit skeptical about a resort in cape coral, but I have to say we were very presently surprised. One thing that we loved was how many things were available to do at the resort. They offered Dolphin & Sunset tours, boat rentals, Kayaks, Bikes and 2 restaurants at the hotel complex. The one restaurant was a bit pricy but was very good. We would defiantly stay here again. We highly recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has a view of the Sunset.

We just stayed at the Resort at Marina Village for a weekend Getaway and stayed in a 3 bedroom suite, overlooking the Marina - GORGEOUS! upon arrival, Michael at Valet helped us with our bags and was so courteous, explaining all the amenities and features of the room. Upon Check in - one of the ladies ( I forgot her name - sorry!) took my 3 yr old to show her the Fish tank - she loved it. The suite has everything you will need!! The Kitchen is fully stocked if you feel like cooking and the Shower in the Master Bathroom is awesome. On Saturday evening, before heading out to Dinner, we sat out on our Balcony and listened to the sounds of the Nightly Entertainment at the Bar - He was great!.
We spent most of our day at the Pool - and was entertained by Jason in Recreation... the kids really enjoyed the Crab races with him... he is a gem!

One of the guests we were travelling with made the comment that everyone was so friendly.... and he was so right - everyone seemed happy to be working there and eager to please.

Thanks RMV for a great stay!

We chose The Resort at Marina Village as the location for our wedding. The hotel and surroundings are stunning! Our families were enchanted with the beauty of the venue, and everyone had an amazing weekend. From the moment you arrive to the second you leave; you will feel relaxed, welcomed and appreciated as their guest. The entire staff at the Marina is outstanding! Everyone we encountered was eager to make our wedding an event to remember. The accommodations are spacious, beautifully decorated, and well maintained. We reserved multiple rooms for our families, so we personally visited the studio, two and three bedroom suites. All the luxurious accommodations feature stylish décor and elegant furniture. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the amenities, especially the pool and workout room. My wedding was P-E-R-F-E-C-T, and our weekend at the resort was more than we expected. The Resort at Marina Village is, indeed, a hidden gem.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the marina.

We were on our honeymoon and selected this place in the last minute instead of Pink Shell Resort on Estero Blvd. We got One bedroom suite as reserved with a decent view of the river and preserve. We loved the cleanliness and amenities offered for the suite. On the other hand, we would have appreciated if the room service was more efficient and regular on giving sufficient toiletries and condiments. Although they provided condiments on request, but it is pain always to call front desk asking for condiments before making coffee in the mornings.
The Staff was courteous but we being new couple were expecting little more friendliness than only courteousness. :) Liked the pool and the water trips provided (at the price of resort fee). WiFi never worked.
Nevertheless the small cons, We would definitely want to stay in a place like this even though its is on the pricier side.

Room Tip: If allowed, upgrade to 2 bed suite to have better balcony views

Perfect for a three day getaway. We live in busy Miami and wanted to go on a long Memorial day weekend somewhere close but far enough. This was the PERFECT spot. Did some day trips to Naples, Fort Myers and Bonita Springs and left longing coming back. The place offers kayaks, complementary bicycles and breathtaking views. Three pools and boat trips. There is enough to do for at least four days and you will not be disappointed.

This resort is beautiful. The location is wonderful, quiet with beautifully maintained grounds. You have the marina on one side and the reserve on the other. Our room was overlooking the reserve which was so peaceful. We had a one bedroom suite which was wheelchair accessible and very spacious, so clean, with every ammenity you could ask for. Fully fitted kitchen (if you wanted to cook), washing machine and tumble dryer in the bathroom. The bathroom facilities were excellent for a wheelchair user, with a chair put in the shower as we requested. We spent quite a few evenings sitting out on our balcony, which was screened. Two tables, large one for eating at with 4 chairs and a smaller table just for sitting to have a drink, with 2 chairs, 2 ceiling fans and a light. The pool was lovely and very quiet, only becoming busier at the weekend. The only problem we encountered was the cable went out and staff came round with a letter apologising. The other problem was that the telephones went out and no-one explained why, it was only after going to the front desk and asking what was wrong that we were given an explanation, the phones were out for about 5 days. We would definitely go back to this hotel it is beautiful.

Room Tip: I should think that all the rooms are excellent. Our's faced the reserve and was so peaceful.
