We got a 2 bedroom suite which over looked the Caloosahatchee river. The accommidations were spot on. Very spacious, comfortable, clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have dinner at Marker 92, which is the resturant in the Hotel, our meal was very good, out side dinning available.

We just returned from a 5-night spring break vacation at The Resort. We loved our 2-bedroom condo. Very comfortable for our family of 4. The space was thoughtfully appointed. The hotel and room staff were very friendly. Our view of Sanibel was awesome, and we spent much of our time on the large patio watching the boats come and go. We chose this spot to be away from the beach crowds and were not disappointed.

The biggest disappointment for us was the restaurant/bar service and food quality. We dined one evening at Marker 92. The food was average, lukewarm, and the server was not real attentive. Another evening, my husband went down to the bar to order food "to go" for our sons. The total time it took, to place the order, wait for it (it came in 2 separate parts), and finally to sign the receipt (which took another 10 minutes) was more than an hour! My husband remarked that the server seemed passive-aggressive, maybe because we didn't just order via room service.

If you are going to have a resort "off the beaten path", you must do better with the restaurant quality and service. I was grateful that we had planned to do most of our own cooking. Because of location, it would have been very time-consuming to drive away from the resort for all of our meals.

We will stay here again if we are in the area and would recommend The Resort to others. However, we will also be mindful of dining concerns and plan accordingly.

Dear Valynj,

It's great to hear about your recent experience with us at The Resort at MarinaVillage. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay with the exception of your dining experiences. I want to assure you that I have brought this to the attention of the Restaurant Managers and they are addressing it with their staff. I would also like to mention that we are in the process of launching some new menus throughout our different dining options that will help ease the kitchen a bit to make sure that food is deliverd in a timely manner as your wait time is not acceptable.

We hope to see you again and look forward to your feedback on some of the changes that will be taking place.

Sincerely,
The Management Team at The Resort at MarinaVillage

Great place to stay! We stayed for 2 days over August 2011. Hotel was super clean. The suite was enormous. Never used the full kitchen, but would be great if you were there for a long time. Washer/Dryer in bathroom was a nice touch. The screen enclosed balcony was big enough to have a dinner party on. The view was great for watching incoming thunderstorms. The food was really good at the restrauant. You can see the dolphins playing in the river while you eat. Pool area was very large and clean. We also used the kayak rental place at the Marina. They were great! They took the time to advise us on the weather so we had a good experience.

If your focus is on great accomodations at a reasonable price this place is for you. The "rooms" are basically condos. We have stayed in a two bedroom and a two bedroom deluxe. Both are new and clean and modern. The pool is great. This is on the water, but not the beach. The views are beautiful overlooking the gulf, marina, and barrier islands. The best part of the rooms is the screened in lanai. Downside: If you want to walk to places-don't stay here. It is in a residential area. The drive to shopping (like a mall) is 30 minutes. Target is about a 15 minute drive. The Marker 92 restaurant is hotel food at hotel prices. A short drive is Cape Harbor resort with two really good places to eat: Rumrunners and The Joint. We end up there severla times during a stay. I found the staff to be great with the exception of the restaurant. The staff at the deli on the property seems to get overwelmed easily and it does not have the best selection. Coffee there is free for guests in the a.m., but not the best coffee. The plus is that your room has a full, stocked kitchen, so you can bring in your own groceries if you like.

I agree with most of the favorable reviews regarding this property. A quiet area; very relaxing atmosphere. The staff on the whole is WONDERFUL, very anxious to please. My only complaint was at check-in which is listed at 3 p.m. but when we arrived we were told 4 p.m. They did not have our room ready until 5:15 p.m. We were not the only ones waiting to get into our room, there were at least 6 others waiting. I believe the problem was lack of help in housekeeping. I sure do hope this has been corrected. The bellhops Lance and Michael were
exceptional; the pool gals were very friendly and accommodating. At first glance, the pool looked small compared to the property but we had no problem getting a lounge and most of the time the pool only had a few people in it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor overlooking the pool and marina, great view!

From the time we arrived at the valet area, to the morning we checked out, every staff person we met could not have been more friendlier and professional. The two bedroom units were spacious, clean and comfortable. The view from our enclosed porch was of the waterfront and marina, a very relaxing area to have breakfast.
The staff at the pools were always available with clean towels and beverages and they have a well equipped fitness room. I would highly recommend this resort....

Room Tip: all rooms will be just fine

I booked a 3 bedroom, 3 bath getaway at this awesome resort. If you want a beach front location this is not the place for you! This resort is located on a secluded marina in a quiet neighborhood which is a couple miles from shopping. You may also take the daily water taxi to Ft. Meyers beach, but you must reserve your spot with the front desk. We had a rental car which was perfect for the location.

This resort is beautiful including the staff, outdoor bar and grill, restaurant, and pool areas. I read some complaints that the pool area is too crowded for the size of the resort, but there are 2 pools a couple minute walk, across the street that are part of the resort. They are clean, well maintained, uncrowded and nicely landscaped! We took advantage of the free bicycles, and rental kayaks the resort offered. The bar grill and restaurants were of good quality. The rooms are spacious, clean, well decorated, and the views are gorgeous!

The only complaint I had( which is not really a complaint) is that for a 3 bedroom there needs to be more plates and cups because of the number of people(6). We compensated by running the dishwasher more often. We did eat a delicious dinners at the resort restaurants, but ran out of cups and plates by completion of lunch. Again, not a big deal.

We met a lot of nice people everyday at the pool or hot tub, and enjoyed socializing with them. I had an excellent experience all the way at this lovely resort, and plan on returning some cold winter day!

Room Tip: If you desire a patio and a balcony book on the lower floors. If you desire breath taking views from...

Dear Marcia077,

Thank you for all of your wonderful compliments! We love hearing from our guests and reading your review allows me to feel confident in the amazing staff we have here at the resort. I will absolutely share with the team your mention of too little dishes for the amount of people the room sleeps – great suggestion!

We look forward to seeing you again… when you’re having some cold winter day!
