We vacation in Cape Coral a couple times a year. It is my understanding that Ford's Garage will be opening up a restaraunt. The snack bar that was once there was awsome. They had great food and wasn't commercialized. I felt this area was more for locals. Only time will tell what the "upgrades" will do to the area.

My family of 5 went here as suggested by a local person. Ft Myers Beach is great, but crowded. The local person said that we would like this, and she was right. It was a wonderful change of pace.

Great place to sit outside by the harbor. Typical bar food which is good. They have plenty of ceiling fans outside to make it much more pleasant.

A small beach but well maintained. It is of note that this is a river and not the gulf of Mexico. Lately, the water has been brown from releases from Lake O to prevent flooding. The water is not the usual quality and is polluted. It is not expected to return to normal till October.

This is a nice little outing if you are staying at the Dolphin key Resort and want a little time by the beach before going to the hotel pool and bar. Since it is only two miles away it doesn't have to take all day. The little café offers light meals, soda, water, coffee, beer and wine It was also fun to go down at night to fish and look at people.
Don't be discouraged by the brown water, since the Caloosahatchee River meets the gulf here the water is not very salt and is colored by roots of the mangrove trees.
