We were SO impressed with this hotel! It was comfortable, friendly, clean, and just overall a great place to stay. I wish we had booked more nights here! And they have a GREAT breakfast!

My family stayed at the Residence Inn two nights prior to our cruise. The entire hotel staff was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was precisely what we had reserved (two queen beds with kitchen), the beds where very comfortable and had extra pillows. We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness and condition of the hotel (inside and out). This is definitely the hotel we’ll stay at on our next cruise or trip to Cocoa Beach.

This hotel is a good option for the area. Accommodation is very spacious and comfortable, welcome friendly in this busy and large hotel. We stayed the weekend prior to Thanksgiving and it was busy. This was particularly obvious at the free breakfast buffet when at times finding a seat was difficult but the staff worked very hard to keep the foot hot and plentiful. We thought it was good value for money. Centrally placed for the area, Kennedy space centre, cruise port beaches, restaurants and shops but of course a car is necessary.

  • Liked — Spacious and comfortable rooms
  • Disliked — Very busy breakfast

My wife and I stayed at the Rasidence Inn 2 night pre-cruise on the Marinesr of the Seas. Arrived at about 5 pm and was warmly welcomed by the front desk. Hotel is very nice and really close to the port. There is a Burger King and Hertz rental car with the property. We were given a studio suite which was great for our basic needs.

The suite comes with a desk and comfy chair; a sofa, chair and coffee table in the living room; small table and 2 chair in the dining area; and a king size bed in the bedroom nook. There is also a good size closet and sink with large countertop outside the bathroom and a nice bathtub with a bowed curtain and plenty of water pressure. The suite also has a fully furnished kitchen with everything you would need for an extended stay including a full size fridge and icemaker.

The breakfast area and meal itself was very nice and a great way to start you day. While not overly large, the foods offered will fit your needs to get yourself going in the morning. There was fresh fruit and fruit salad, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, breads and bagels for toasting, 3 or 4 cereals, scrambled eggs, potatoes, pancakes or french toast, biscuits and gravy, waffles and juices and coffee. The eating area can fill up quickly as it is small and cozt, but there is an outside patio theat has nice tables and chairs.

A few other observations:
1. The grounds and hotel were very clean and staff extremely friendly.
2. The pool was very quiet, as we were the only ones there for Saturday afternoon. If you want a busy pool you may want to stay at the Radisson.
3. There is not much shade by the pool area if you are looking for some relief from the heat, but there is the covered patio not too far from the pool.
4. There are some meet and greets with fellow guests and staff, but they are only during the week, so if you go on the weekend do not be expecting this.
5. We did not find the bed extremely comfortable and found ourselves tossing ans turning at night, although don't if it was the bed or we were excited about our cruise.

These are only minor faults and would not stop us from staying here again if we were to cruise out of Port Canaveral. The Residence Inn Cape Canaveral is a great way to start off your relaxing vacation

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2008

I stayed at this hotel on business for most of a week in June, 2008 and again for a week in October 2008 and enjoyed both stays. The rooms were quiet, exceptionally clean and all items worked, from the integrated air conditioning to all of the kitchen appliances. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and the bathrooms were well supplied with towels and the usual shampoos and soaps.

There isn't much of a view (either the pool from rooms on one side, or the car park from rooms on the other side) but most travellers are either joining or returning from a cruise where the views are going to be pretty spectaular anyway so I doubt it would matter.

I prefer Residence Inns because of the ability to be self sufficient with a full kitchen. This one is possibly the best of some twenty different examples of this chain that I have stayed in over the last decade. It is fairly new (as of 2008), clean and reasonably quiet given the majority holidaymaker clientelle.

One of the things that stands out so much in the 10 days I have stayed here is the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff, from the front desk crew through the restaurant staff and even to the housekeeping personnel. My impression is that the management does what is necessary to ensure that the staff are generally happy, and that they in turn pass this on in their attitude towards the guests. I keep in mind that I am aware that a guest displaying a good attitude to the staff of any hotel will go a long way to seeing one in return and a simple smile and "hello" cost nothing to deliver.

I can definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a night or a week and I will return again in November. There is direct shuttle access to the various cruise ship terminals and there are both take-out and sit-in restaurants nearby if guests don't want to cook for themselves.

We stayed here the night before our cruise. The hotel is very clean. Our room was very nice. Lots of space. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately it rained the whole day we were there so we didn't get to go in the pool. We did sit in the hot tub for a few minutes before the storm arrived. Great location. Close to the port and to Budget rental. Breakfast was very good. More than just pastries. I have food allergies and I was still able to eat enough to satisfy my tummy. Overall it is a nice hotel and I would recommend it to others. Can't seem to go wrong with a Marriott.

Just got back from a 3 night stay and would definitely return. We chose this hotel because it was close to the Kennedy Space Center, about a 10 minute drive. It's also about 5 minutes from the port so many of the people in the hotel were either coming back from a cruise or going on a cruise. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast buffet had many choices. On Thursday night they had "Sports Night" that included complimentary nachos, beer and wine. The kids really enjoyed it. We used the kitchen in our room every night to cook dinner and was pleasantly surprised that the cleaning staff put away our dishes. The beach is about a 15 mintue drive. We went to Lori Wilson Park right next to the Hilton. It had free parking and was really close to the beach. This beach is not for little kids because of the waves.

All in all a great hotel for families!
