I stayed at the Resort from 8/19 - 8/24 along with two other families. The rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. The restaurant food was excellent and a great value for the money. The pool facilities were outstanding. There's plenty to do to keep your kids entertained regardless of their age. A golf cart shuttle will take you to and from the beach (approx. 2 minute ride).

For the person that complained about not having room service -- it's not offered and frankly we didn't miss it. A towel exchange is readily available in the lobby area.

While the Resort sells timeshares we were only politely asked a few times to consider a tour and sales pitch. We declined and were never bothered again.

My only minor complaint concerns the air conditioning unit which was a bit noisey (if you're sleeping in the living room area). Otherwise, you'll definately enjoy staying at this Resort.

We stayed at the Ron Jon Aug. 8 to Aug. 15, 2004. All in all we had an enjoyable stay. We stayed in the main poolside building, which I would recommend. Ocean-side building is fine if you only want to be at the ocean, but all the amenities are in the main building. The 2 bedroom room was very clean and well equipped. The matresses are a bit hard. Our primary complaint would be the noisy Air conditioner in the room. Although I've been told they are looking into it, I find it hard to believe this wasn't a day one problem and fixed sooner.

Another lesser issue is the fact that you can't charge food/drinks from the reefside grill to your room. Reefside food was decent, but they screwed up 2 out of 3 meals, not major screw ups, but annoying none the less ... worse though,was they had the gall to argue with us about it.

for food, check out the Italian Courtyard in cocoa beach - looks like a hole in the wall when you walk in, but in the back the room is very nice, and the food is good and plentiful.

We were there during Hurricane Charlie, and I must say they appeared well prepared. Constant messages were left for us on the telephone keeping us apprised of the situation.

The staff was generally friendly, although sometimes not easy to find or to respond. For example, the movie theater CD player was not playing the scheduled movie ... even though probably 4 different people went to get help, nobody came - we all eventually left.

Maid service was once during the week, and she was very friendly and did a good job.

Pools/lazy river/slide was fun - the kids enjoyed this - it did get a little crowded, but not ever to the point of a problem. The ocean beach was easy to get to via the golf cart shuttle - I would suggest that when they have 2 shuttles running, they should stagger them ... sometimes the shuttles would be right behind each other. It's not a long walk, so if we just missed it we would walk. Renting chair/umbrella at the ocean was reasonable, and able to charge the room. Definitely check out the surfing lessons. My son, daughter and I did this and had a blast .. the instructor was great.

Check out the safari Todd show - get there early or you will stand.

They do ask about a hundred times if you want to take a tour - we finally gave-in after they offered $75. We took the 45 min. tour and politely said no .. not a major sales push once they realize we are not interested.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay - it is a new resort and is still working out the kinks.

We just returned from a week long stay at the Ron Jon (Aug. 20-27, 2004) and had a great time. Prior to going we had read every review available and had some concerns that we were going to be disappointed. We traveled with another couple and a total of 5 boys ages 9 to 12. I called ahead the morning we arrived to request that both parties were in the same building, preferably by the pool. When we arrived they were unable to accomodate the poolside building but were able to put us next to each other in the oceanside building. This ended up working out nicely. Additionally we were able to check in early, about 2:00 pm.

The 2 bed/ 2 bath unit we stayed in was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were on the third floor and could watch the ships leaving the port. We loved the Carribean/surfing decor. The A/C was pretty loud at night but we found we could turn it off when we went to bed and leave the ceiling fans on and it would stay very comfortable.

We shopped at the Publix about 5 miles away and saved a lot of $$ by eating at the room. We ate at the Reefside Grill three times and the food was pretty good. The service was reasonable. We had no complaints.

The boys had a great time with all the amenities. I don't think we ever heard "I'm Bored" all week!!! The adults just enjoyed relaxing by the pool and listening to the music.

Shuttling back and forth to the main building is a small inconvenience but definitely not a big deal. At times the wait seemed long or the shuttle would fill up quickly. We were a large group and could fill it up ourselves if it was one of the smaller ones. It was certainly walking distance so we would generally only shuttle if it was there waiting for us, or when it was really hot. We found that on the weekend there were many tours taking place and the sales people and clients were filling the shuttles.

We found the linen exchange to be somewhat inconvenient. Perhaps a linen exchange could be done in the oceanside building, even just at one specific time per day.

We had read that the staff was unfriendly and not helpful. We disagree! Everyone was pleasant and helpful. We were asked frequently to tour, however, never felt pressured. We ultimatly did not tour because we knew we were not going to purchase.

Overall, the week was just what we had hoped it would be. Relaxing and fun!! We certainly would go back again.

We stayed July 28- Aug 7th in the 2Br deluxe. Family of 6, kids ages 12, 15, 17, 18. We liked the pool, hot tub, lazy river, movie theater, and basketball courts.
Now the negatives-
We checked in on Wed, did not have any maid service for 6 days, then the maid only made the beds, did not vacuum, clean kitchen or bathroom, put on clean sheets or change towels.

When we went to the towel exchange and asked for additional garbage bags, bar of soap and toilet paper, we were told to buy it in the gift shop. We stayed 10 days and our supplies were not refilled the entire stay.

Air conditioner was so loud it woke us up at night. The electricity blinked off several times a day and we had to reset all the clocks. Blinds in windows don't keep light out, and walls are so thin we could hear people talking and walking by our room.

No life guards, and kids were diving in the pool, and other dangerous play.

Many of the activities didn't have instructors show up, such as Pilates, black jack night, bingo. Other activities started 30 minutes late, such as basketball shoot out, safari todd wildlife show, and some movies.

I had an appointment for massage and facial and got facial then I was told to come back in 4 hours for massage. They were suppose to be back to back.

The worst thing for us was that the pool and lazy river would get over crowded at times because they give free day passes to people who go on a time share tour, if you purchase you can use the facilities for the next 3 years for free(many people from Orlando area buy and drive in for the day) and one day when we were there it was a stop for the Carnival cruise ship and the passangers could come use the pool for the day. As they sell more units the pool area will continue to get more and more crowded. We won't be returning.

The ocean is far away from the pool. The shuttle is nice but the wait time was longer then I expected. We walked most of the time because it was faster then waiting for the shuttle. There are no bathrooms by the ocean.

I am pleased to respond to the Trip Advisor comments from Maplewood, Minnesota. Thank you for your positive comments on the pool, hot tub, Lazy River, movie theater and basketball courts.

On the issue of maid service, as of September 1, we will be including additional information on our “touchup” service. This service, which is typical of timeshare resorts around the country, is provided at mid-stay to those individuals who are vacationing for five days or more. It includes making the beds, vacuuming, counter and bathroom wipe-downs, removal of garbage and a full change of towels. Our regular owners understand the “touch-up” cleanup service, but clearly we need to do a better job of explaining this service to guests, who are responsible for their own personal supplies during an extended stay.

Regarding the air conditioner, we are working on a new baffling system which will eliminate your concerns. The system itself is highly energy efficient which supports our commitment to sustainability. The electricity issue that you cited was caused by our main grid power supplier. We have been assured by them that it will not occur again.

As I mentioned in my previous Trip Advisor note, additional drapes have been ordered for the walkway windows and will be installed over the next three months.

Regarding people talking loudly in an adjoining room, our front desk enforces our policy of respect for all our guests and is more than glad to advise individuals abusing this policy to respect their neighbors.

We do have pool attendants at three areas of the water park. They are trained to stop individuals from diving into the pool (signs are also posted) and other inappropriate conduct.

We try to have all of our activities start on time. Some of the activities, i.e., blackjack night, are provided by outside vendors, but our experience since opening on January 1, is that our activities do start within minutes of their appointed time.

We apologize for the misunderstanding on the times for the facial and the massage. We have changed our procedure for scheduling these services and this problem should not occur again.

There is no question that during those periods when the resort is near or at capacity, the pool and the Lazy River are crowded. We do provide our owners with the opportunity to utilize the facilities at times other than their ownership time frames which is done by many of the top resorts around the country.

The shuttle goes to the ocean from the main building every 10 minutes.

There are bathrooms in the ocean building that are available for beach use. Based on your comments, it appears we need better signage. It has been ordered and will be installed within the next 10 days.

As I have stated previously on Trip Advisor, we appreciate all of the comments that we have received and will continue to improve, enhance and upgrade our resort to meet the needs of our customers.
