Again, like I said about the Roberto's Cuban Restaurant in Cocoa Beach, we came here because of a recommendation in a dated travel article from the NY Times. I should have known better. The article was about 7 years old. But this place is very average at best. The type of people who come here are pretty tacky, so it seems to cater to that. The hotel décor in the lobby, the hotel grounds, the rooms are all pretty average to substandard. However, the people who work there are nice and helpful. But I think in general, you could do a lot better at the Radisson or some other place in town instead.

We stayed 4th of July week. There was 100's of kids here rightfully for the forth. Many were unsupervised and doing back flips into the pool and roughhousing, pool staff said nothing 90% of the time. The room was way to small for 4 as there were 3 of us in a studio, 1 was 3 1/2 years old. The walls were paper thin, unit was near the elevator and tours went by all day long while my granddaughter was attempting to sleep. We never used the pool area, she loves the water and every time we took her down to the pool she cried and said she didn't want to go to that pool. She wanted to go to the pool at Grammy's hotel (Discovery Resort) as it was more mellow and there weren't 4 or 5 adults laying in the children's pool area. The larger pool area was littered with children and parents on the stairs, there was no access for my toddler enter. I called and asked for a wake up call at 5 am on the Monday morning as I had to go home to work 2 hours away...there was fire alarms 3 times from 12 am - 3 am with everyone out in the parking lot in our pajamas....at 5:30 I awoke to my phone alarm and called the front desk to thank them. On the Friday check out was 10 am we called and told them about Monday and asked for a wake up at 8:30 am and got 3 wake up calls at 5 am REALLY FUNNY!!!!!!!! The restaurant service was very slow but the food was great.

Room Tip: Don't get a room near the elevator......timeshare sales go by all day and unsupervised teenagers...

We loved this "family" resort. There is plenty to do for all ages.

Villa: Ours was in the main bldg with a port view - pretty cool to see huge ships passing our windows. The villa was in great condition, veryclean and typical tropical decor. Everything is very spacious and well equipped. My only con for the kitchen: no non-stick pans, so everything stuck and only 1 cutting knives, that was a mission to use (you may want to pack 1 non-stick pan & a good knife!).

Pools: Big and always clean. Our 4 kids, ranging from 16 to 5, loved the lazy river and the slide. Poolside Grill had good food, not overly priced and all kinds of drinks. The alcoholic drinks are on the weak side, but I didn't want to lose my children...lol...so that's ok. No coolers allowed inside, but you can leave them outside the gate; very safe. Twice, on different days, the pool got closed due to a parent not putting pull-ups on their toddler. They are strict about this, as they should be...the pool gets closed for 2-3 hours to clean and sterilize it again!

Beach: we're from Miami and don't have these kinds of beaches, so it was a new experience. A lot of waves and rip current, so be cautious. The boogie boarding was a lot of fun. And the water (for us) was very cold, but we still ventured in and had fun.

Kids: A lot for them to do, even at night. During the summer, the pool closes at 11pm. The movie theater was great...it's small, but impressive and runs from morning until night. The arcade is fun, too. The kids can go to the front desk and ask for tokens. The mini golf...there's always people playing. And a nice plus, the indoor playground...very nice way to get away from the sun/heat for a while.

Tram/Shuttle: I thought this would be an issue, but literally, in a blink of an eye, the tram is driving up for pick up / drop off. The wait is no more than a few minutes. Yes, you can walk, but when you have little kids and/or you're carrying a lot of stuff, the 5 minute walk can turn into torture. Keep in mind, once you get to the boardwalk, you still have another stretch of walking to do.

Beach Chairs: There's a private vendor on the beach. We paid $20 for 1 umbrella and 3 lounge chairs for the whole day.

Staff: They were really great and everywhere. I felt very safe here and allowed the 3 older kids to walk around without me. I expected more video cameras, but all the staff compensated for it.

Location: off the highway. A short drive to Publix, Walgreens, CVS, etc. Inside the Port is about 7 Seafood Restaurants. Baja was cheap, but good (oysters & jerk pork burrito). Rusty's was really good, too (oysters, shrimp, chicken, crab cakes). All face the water, have live bands and are suitable for children.

Overall, we had a great time and we had no complaints. My only real complaint was our king bed. It turns out, all the beds are new and apparently, ours had not been broken in. It felt like we were sleeping on the floor...literally. it was very hard. Other than that, this place is great.

FYI - No romancing here...this a KID resort and they're everywhere!! Enjoy :)

We exchanged through RCI. We spent most of our time at the pool. The lazy river is awesome. You could be in there forever. The grill is a great spot for food or drinks inside or out. If you go to the beach the shuttle will take you there but you could walk. The rooms are plenty big. The fitness room was great. Plenty to do!

Loved the resort and all they had to offer. Condo was big enough for a family of 5. Kids loved everything they offered. We ate one time at the Grill. It was good. The beach was great. No problems taking the tram. Pool was great. We would go to the beach in the morning, come back for lunch and then go to the pool. Went to a movie and the animal show. My kids loved the playroom. We also had fun with put put golf. Overall, we would definately go back.

This resort was totally family oriented. Large pool. Lazy river. 1 water slide. My kids 15-12-10 had a blast but there were a few things that would have been nice but not necessary. Slide and lazy river close between 5-7pm every day at the lifeguards discretion. Kids wanted to play longer. Beach was a shuttle ride away on the property where the time shares were. Had to plan for that trip and pack everything. Real crowds were at Cocoa Beach Parks which was a short drive and you pay for parking if you can find it. Watching the cruise ships go in and out was fun though. Disney Dream leaves Sunday afternoon and sounds off all of its foghorn tunes as it leaves. Bring your own beach towels if you want to layout comfortably. Towels provided were small, rough and thin. Food was average. Many other good local food spots close though. Full kitchen and washer and dryer were nice! Very clean spacious rooms but could use a little updating. 4-5 days was enough for us unless you have other things to do or your teenager meets a "friend". Kennedy Space Center is close and was awesome for kids that will sit still, listen, and can understand how awesome what they are seeing really is. Highly recommended but might be rough and hot with stroller aged kids.
Might not sound like it but it was a great vaca! Nice to relax in a condo like setting and not a crowded room. We had a 2 bedroom. One bedrooms only had a shower. Two bedrooms had a corner tub and 2 showers.
Bring your boogie boards.

my husband and I went to RJCC the year they opened through another vacation club and ended up buying a 2 bedroom oceanfront. We've taken many family members and friends through the years and they are always happy and surprised and the size of the condo and comforts of home. Owners can call ahead and request a unit on 3rd floor or above for the view and a double balcony, so far we have always been able to get our requests. We did not know there were 2 layouts when we bought in. Convenience to Orlando is a big plus.
Everyone (especially the grandkids) loves watching the cruise ships, including Disney, come in and out of port. We've seen the nuclear subs come in and NASA launches.
The beds (except sofa bed) are very comfortable. Even with eight people there is enough room to not feel crowded. Very clean and well maintained. Tram to pool is very helpful. The restaraunt menu is very limited and overpriced is my only real complaint, and I wish the annual fee had not doubled. We don't spend the extra for the exchange with RCI since we like to go back every year.

Room Tip: Love the oceanfront view and the quiet.
