“Cave and Cafe”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Visited the cave with a school group and had an awesome time.. wading through the stream viewing all the stalagmites, glow worms etc.. in a controlled but entertaining tour.
Then ate a shared lunch with the class.. on the groomed lawns.
Will go back again to check out the food and coffee.

“Something a bit different”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

The people who took us through were very friendly and obviously loved what they were doing. I loved that there weren't lots of people and we felt individual. And the cafe at the end of the day - brilliant! Nothing was too much trouble! Just like being looked after by friends

“Brilliant but be prepared to get wet, muddy and squeeze through narrow spaces.”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Nikau Caves are a a real gem. The experience is not touristy, the caves are interesting with a great glowworm grotto. Moderate fitness required and you definitely need to be able to cope with tight spaces and being in the dark. You are likely to get wet and muddy too so take a change of clothes. Enjoy a good meal in the cafe afterwards. A fabulous day trip ex Auckland!!!

“Amazing find!”

Make sure you take a change of clothes. Coffee and home baking at the cafe afterwards felt well deserved.
