While the sight is the battleground and showcases a battle of Seminole and US troops, I feel like the park left me a bit underwhelmed. There was a museum that had several exhibits including one which seemed to have a shorted out speaker and just continued to buzz over everything. I always find walking the grounds of a battlefield interesting. The toppled monuments, neighborhood and nearby farm fields make it hard to envision what this was really like. If you are a war buff or when the reenact the attack, this may be more interesting.

A very well done reinactment of the battle that started the second Seminole war. The park is nicely maintained, the museum offered a very interesting look into that time in history. Part of the old Kings highway runs through the park. A day well spent and worth doing again.

This event is a two day recreation of the Second Seminole War that was fought by Maj. Francis L. Dade and Seminole leader Chief Jumper. It was very interesting to see the Army camp and the Indan camp that were set up to depict what they actually looked like at that time. Also the period clothing and the re-enactors describing the clothing and weaponry. It is well worth the time to visit the museum, vendors, and watch the battle as can best be described by both side of the combatants. Dade Battlefield Park is a piece of Florida history that shouldn't be missed.

This site is the centerpiece park in Florida's interpretation of the Second Seminole War. interprets a pivotal battle that sparked the Second Seminole War. What is really amazing is that you can walk the actual path of the wagon route the troops were traveling when attacked, and see the locations at which individuals actually fought and fell. The reconstruction of the barricade where the troops made their last stand, on the documented exact location, is incredible. It's a small park, but the best preserved and interpreted site of a Seminole War battle in Florida. The visitor's center is outdated, but the content strong. It features a decent video, several exhibits, and some truly amazing artifacts from the battle. The staff was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. One of the better experiences I had in my visit to Florida. I wish more of the battlefield was preserved, but that is not the fault of the staff. Just glad to see what has been done.
