The forest has many trails that can be hiked, biked, driven, horseback ridden or traversed on motorcycle. You can boat on or swim in Silver Lake, and camp in the campground. What a great place for family fun!

Start at Hwy 50 and you have a short trip to Trilby or forever if you go north. Smooth and mostly flat rail to trail with light dappled shade. Silver Lake is a good put-in point for kayaks and canoes and there's excellent camping there as well.

This is a nice state forest to visit while in the area. Take a scenic bike ride or walk on the bike trail-- there's dozens of places you can put in, including a location right off of Cortez Blvd (I-75 exit 301). There's no charge, of course.
