Owner description: Golf club offers two Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole courses: Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks.

Either of the 2 18 hole courses (Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks) are in 4.5 to-5 star condition year round, even in the summer where many operators skimp on maintenance.
The emphasis here is golf, golf, and more golf. no swimmimg pool but 2 wonderfully designed and maintained regulation couses, a VG 9 hole executive course (which you can easily walk for $10 for 9 or 18H), a huge practice area, 2 acre putting green, even a 3 hole practice course which one can play for $4 a hole to warm up for the "Big Courses."
I prefer to walk the executive course first, get the kinks out, then take on one of the 2 featured courses.
Expect a 5 hr, $125 round in winter, or a 3.5 hr $40-50 round at other times of the year. Nice staff.

Ever since this bigger than life complex opened in 1993 I've wanted to venture down. We finally did last year and again last week. This will be an annual journey from here forward. Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere. Yes, I and you'll like it that way. Yes, you can walk both courses - anytime. Yes, there is a fine nine hole "Irons" course. Yes, there are three full-fledged practice holes. Yes, there's a practice range that dwarfs all others. Yes, the green fees are very reasonable.
Yes, Fazio outdid himself twice. Yes, Tiger did his famous ball bouncing on wedge TV spot here, so someone else knows about it. Yes, Michelson and Toms dueled it out here for a Shell's Wonderful World of Golf special. Yes, the new superintendent is restoring the course to its former grandeur - and it is already there.

So, fly to Tampa, drive an hour North and you'll find pure, unadulterated golf at its finest.
