While in Bradenton on Anna Maria Island in May 2013 the Bridge Tender Inn effectively became our local watering hole as it was only a 10 minute stroll from our condo (or a 20 minute stagger back depending on how you look at it!)

They have an outdoor Tiki bar across the street with bar seating and some additional tables and chairs, this is RIGHT next to the bay with great views and a cooling breeze at times.

The main bar has some shaded outdoor seating and indoor seating with bar stools at the bar. Its more like a sports bar with a few TV's here and there and some decent live music on an evening but during the visits we made it never became rowdy.

Heaven for me was Landshark on draft by the pitcher and they have some great wings, quite large and crispy and the blue cheese dip has big chunks of blue cheese in it, I guess its home made-delicious. The coconut shrimp is also probably the best I have ever had-large shrimp with a great coconut breading all home made not frozen garbage. Served with a lovely sticky sweet mango salsa.

We were well looked after by our servers if it was lunch or dinner or just an afternoon drink to escape the heat. The only cocktail I had was a Long Island Tea and it was very well made, the flavor was spot on and nice and strong.

What can I say, if you want somewhere unpretentious to relax, good food and nice cold beer then this is the place in Bradenton.

I will be back!

We went there because we were told they had fried shrimp. They did not. Fried shrimp were remarkable hard to find on the island. We sat down to order and felt like the menu lacked focus and also noted that the place smelled kind of weird so we decided not to have dinner there. We had already ordered drinks so we ordered a plate of nachos to share. They were good, but there was so much stuff on them that it was tough to find a chip.

Dropped by here dinner with a party of 11. Called an got reservation for the dining room. Waitree took order drinks, served the dinks then took dinner order. 15 minutes, no to bad. 15 minutes later ordered 2nd round. 30 minutes after ordering - no food. Spoke to manager, got a song dance about how it takes 25 minutes to cook, ok. 60 minutes after arriving, 45 minutes after ordering, still no food. Since we had others arriving at beach house, we needed to leave, so we asked for the bar check. 5 minutes later, we get bar check, a few minutes later, the food starts to arrive, over an hour after we arrive. Oh we'll, we were already out the door.

Food was pricey but very good. Service was excellent. We went during the day so it was not busy at all. "Kid's hamburgers" were adult size! I got the steak sandwich and husband got turkey club. Both were excellent! We definitely left full!
