35 family members stayed and joined us for our beach wedding and vacation. We could not have been more satisfied. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We enjoyed walking out the back door and stepping directly onto the beach! It was a prime location for our wedding. The furniture, bedding, mattresses and appliances were all new and very well maintained. We was very excited to have an outside shower for our six children to rinse off the sand. The whole entire group appreciated that there was no daily maid service to disturb us every morning, however you can add maid service if that benefits your needs. The staff was very available for our friends that arrived after hours and for any other needs we may have had. There was no hidden fees or surprises, I was charged what I was told and nothing more! We are looking to stay here many more times.....

The AMI Inn is a throwback to the Good Old Days. It's holidays as they used to be. But I like it. Very much. If you go with a bucket and spade mentality you will have a great time. It is perfect for B & S's with the kids. A near perfect beach. Endless fishing. All you need in the shops nearby.
What's there not to like?
Well, it's not glamorous. It's homely.
The rooms are clean and functional. It works with no frills.
Yes, it could do with a lot of updating but maybe that's part of it's charm.
Please don't go if scrappy shower curtains are your last straw in the bathing stakes.
But do go if you want to bump into lots of nice American families fleeing Michigan on Spring Break. A huge part of their business is repeat. Which says it all really.

No, minimalist tones here. But the cooker works. The Fridge is massive with ice. It's not that cheap in my view, but, you are slap bang in the middle of whatever action it is that you seek. If you are a first-time to AM Island I would recommend you have a car, most definitely. There IS a very good trolley bus that's free, but you can wait and wait. But it does mean if you have teenagers they are not held back by your plans for the evening.

The owner, Court, is on hand if you need anything. So just ask.

It's not for the Gucci-clad brigade but if you have young kids who want to enjoy all that AM Island has to offer then GO. We loved it. My Boy wants to move there! Yes, It's THAT great.

As several previous reviews mentioned, the location of the hotel is wonderful. Being able to walk outside your door onto a beautiful beach was great. Moreover, the location on the island itself was perfect - an easy drive into Sarasota and a nice trip to all points on the island. The staff was very helpful. The pool was nice and quiet.

Unfortunately, the rest of our experience at the Anna Maria Island Inn was lackluster. The rooms are unimprssive - the furniture is cheap (wobbly tables, terribly uncomfortabe mattresses, cheap bed frames, broken drawers, etc.), there are marks/dents/scratches all over the walls, broken fixtures and an odd musty smell (despite the fact that we kept the windows open to the beach breeze almost the entire time). We were in a first-floor unit and the noise from the upstairs units was almost unbearable at times (the sound of sliding heavy metal chairs on tile floors with little to no insulation). However, the worst for me was the lack of cleanliness - the bed sheets were clean (I hope), but discolored and stained. I had to get my son's toy from under our bed and it looked like it had never seen a vacuum cleaner. The window sills in the kitchen and bathroom were caked with grime and mildew. There were cigarette butts in the sand outside the common area, which was gross.

They apparently have a loyal following since they were booked solid in every room before and after us. Maybe our unit was the problem, but I tend to doubt it. Either way, we won't be returning to find out.

We have been coming to this inn/apartment complex since 1999. For several years, we have gone multiple times. Our children have grown up going to Sand Pebble/Anna Maria Island Inn and would not go anywhere else. Sure there are issues, but being a step away from the water beats anything else. We have never had an issue getting anything fixed or if we need something, management has always been extremely accommodating. One huge plus, is the ability to bring a pet. We love it at Anna Maria. We were just there last weekend and will be staying for two weeks at Christmas. I am already planning another week there for next October and a week next Christmas.

This is our second time here at the Anna Maria Island Inn, and again we had a great experience. The room was lovely and clean. The decor was attractive and pleasing to the eye. There is nothing quite like stepping out of your room and into the sand. I wouldn't have it any other way. The gulf beaches are incredible here, and all your stresses of the day just melt away. It's so quiet and relaxing and the sunsets are beautiful. My husband and I look forward to coming back again.
