We came here today because we were celebrating my birthday with the kids. The service was wonderful. Our waitress explained everything very clearly and knew a lot about the menu. She was able to explain the difference between various dishes, which helped in our decision making. The servers all seem to really help each other out, and seem to have a good rapport with one another. At least, that is what I saw as a customer. Typically Carrabba's service is good, but the servers here were especially good, especially our waitress.
We really enjoy the food at Carrabba's. I personally love their chicken dishes. I got one of the seasonal specials they have, which is where you can select one item from three categories. I had chicken bryan, mezzalunna and fettuccini alfredo. The Italian salad was very good, with a nice variety of toppings. My husband had Caesar salad and they added anchovies per his request. The family always enjoys the bread and oil dip and she was good about bringing out more bread, which they enjoyed. The chicken bryan was delicious, as was the fettuccini. I liked the mezzalunna, but not as much as the other items. It had a tiny bit of a kick to it. My husband had a seafood pasta dish, and really enjoyed all of the seafood in it; he said it was a bit heavenly seasoned. One daughter had chicken fingers and broccoli, and enjoyed it. The other daughter had ravioli. It didn't look like a very big portion, but she couldn't eat it all. Our son had a regular sized pizza. He is a growing teenage boy, but did have two pieces left. He said it was very good. We had a coupon for a free dessert, so we got the chocolate cake with sweetened cream. It was like a dense cake or brownie, with slightly sweetened cream and warm ganache poured over top. All five of us ate it, and it was pretty rich. I didn't even want more dessert when I got home.
I think that the value is very good. I cook at home a lot, so the prices always seem a little high to me in restaurants. However, they don't charge extra for the salad, and they include lots of bread, which makes a difference in the value.
The atmosphere is nice. It was very dark in the restaurant. The tables are fairly close, but because it's so dark, you don't feel as close to others as you really are. You can eat outside, which is nice on a cooler evening. It's not really romantic, if you are looking for that.
It's great for children. There were only a few kids there, but the servers were very nice to our kids. They have plenty of options on the kid's menu, which cost about $6.50. The kids that were there were well behaved (mine included) but because the sound level is a bit high in general, chatty kids probably wouldn't cause a problem.
