“Well kept facility, terrible service in restaurant”

Naples Fort Myers Greyhound Track
Reviewed May 11, 2013

We came here to enjoy the greyhound races during lunch, but were really disappointed in the restaurant. The food was very good, but the service was ridiculous. The staff seemed to be arguing among themselves, and we were seated in a decent location, but completely ignored once we sat down. Once the waitress took our order, that was the end of it. Other patrons around us eventually got up and left without ever getting their food. When it did finally arrive, everything was delicious. It's a shame that the service was so bad because I can't imagine anyone ever going back after such poor treatment.

The track itself was well kept and the dogs seemed to be happy. In spite of the restaurant experience, we had a good time watching the race.

We had dinner in the upstairs restaurant overlooking the track & had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The food was good & there is a complete bar. You can bet as little as $2 on a race with about a dozen races going off about every 12-15 minutes. The couple that we were with had never been there before & were a little apprehensive, but in the end we all had a great time picking winners from the line sheet of dogs running in each race. I would recommend it for an affordable, entertaining & fun night out.

Like most tracks nowadays, there is a small crowd in most areas if you are actually there to watch the races. You can stand closer to the track than most places. The interiors in the main areas are humble but nice. They do have a couple of nicer looking bar areas, and the poker room was open to one of the bar/betting areas. The restaurant is on the third floor and looked really nice. Don't know about the food because we didn't eat there. The restaurant seems much higher than most tracks, you are really looking down to see the race. I would like to go back and eat there. We were late arriving and didn't have to pay to enter.

We always visit the Greyhound Track while in Naples. They offer a "Dollar/Senior Day. Programs, hot dogs, pop/soda and popcorn are all a dollar that day. Great value! There's plenty of seating at the track.

Interesting venue to visit. Not costly to get in and if you are lucky you can win from some betting on these races, but we weren't that lucky! Cool to see the dogs and fun to watch them race. This isn't something I'd do a lot but was fun to experience once.
