We stayed at HVC Coconut Pointe with our 3 month baby & grandparents. The pool area is perfect for families with young children. We bought alot of our food becasue there really isn't a good variety of food on location and you have to travel offsite for good restaurants.

Beautiful resort but they do need to brush up on their customer service skills. We were renting, we do not own a timeshare there, and after we saw the way customer service is handled, would never even consider buying here. We had booked a studio unit, but decided to pay to upgrade to a one bedroom when we arrived to have a washer and dryer and seperate bedroom. We were told we would have to forfeit the two nights deposit we had already paid for the studio to change to a one bedroom. This resort did not appear to even be half full--so they lost $100 which we would have paid for a bigger condo. We had requested a high level room, got first floor. I doubt if they even read requests. Check out is 10 a.m., our flight home was not until 3:30 pm so requested to stay two extra hours--denied. We could stay if we paid $20 per hour extra. Now, if this resort were busy, I would understand, but the whole time we were there there was no one staying anywhere near us. We never passed another guest on the walkway to our room. There were usually six or less cars in the parking area. We have rented many of the Hilton timeshare units in Orlando and their customer service is excellent. If the resort had been busy, I would not have been upset by any of these issues, but since it was obviously not maybe they should try to please their guests if they want to sell their timeshares. Maybe that is why there are only three buildings completed.
On the positive side they do provide a free washer and dryer on the second floor of each building, and they were always available since capacity was so low. The grounds are beautiful and the lazy river is so nice. They also provide computers with free internet in the lobby. Even our studio unit had a very large balcony. The studio was large and nicely decorated.
The Veranda has very good sandwiches and Charles is very friendly at the bar. He made us feel welcome and remembered what we liked. At least one employee has good customer service skills.

This place is all you could ask for and so much more!! Accomodation great but do not appreciate being charged like all hotels do in America it seems charge a fee for use of facilities (we pay enought in this climate for our holiday upfront so drop these charges) However back to review, the room very comfy but we did find as a family we needed two rooms for the space so we got another. Breakfasts very good valve for money and good quality as well some of the waiting staff do have a bit of an attitude however, but the cooks were great! very friendly and cooked whatever you wanted. The pools and nature reserve are a must breath taking a great palce and can't wait to go back neither can the family ...a must you won't regret it.

The Hyatt Coconut Plantation is a family friendly resort hotel offering many amenities for couples and families. The three pools are wonderful - a large "walk out" style pool with water fountains, a lazy river winding around the lush property, and an adult only pool for relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We've been coming twice a year for a few years now and they greet us remembering all of our names. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the place to stay!

We booked a week in a studio to use up extra Hyatt Vacation Club points, just as a leisurely getaway as the temperatures in our hometown of Pittsburgh began dropping. Not having visited here before, we had no special expectations, and were pleasantly surprised by the uniformly high quality of the physical surroundings and the staff. The resort is a visual feast. The buildings are bright, well maintained, nicely furnished, well appointed, clean, and the studio was the largest we have found anywhere. The screened porch was huge and overlooked a pond surrounded by palms. The staff were extremely friendly, even the groundskeepers unfailingly greeted us as we walked by with smiles and "have a nice day" pleasantries.

The clubhouse and pool complex is very large and in perfect shape. There is a veranda bar with tables serving light fare along with drinks. There are multiple pools including an adult lap pool which delighted spouse, and a "lazy river'inner tube ride. This central complex was designed to serve 12 surrounding residence buildings, but so far only 3 have been completed, so the capacity of the pools is much greater than the number of people staying there at present.
There is limited food availability at the resort, but the Hyatt Regency Hotel is a short walk along the golf course and has several restaurants, including a superb breakfast buffet . A car is really neccessary to access the surrounding area, where there are many restaurant and shopping complexes. Naples is a half hour drive away with many restaurant choices. Our favorite was Cafe Normandie, a small country french place with good food at reasonable price and a charming host/owner from Normandy.
We loved the whole place and would return in the future.
