“Great Florida Getaway”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Splendid location and facility. Stayed at this Hyatt for a week with my wife and really enjoyed the pace of this resort. The property has access to Estero Bay and is adjacent to a nature preserve. It's a beautiful, relaxing setting to say the least. The rooms are comfortable, and ours had a small balcony with a great view of the Bay and the preserve. The staff there is excellent and we would like to thank Dan at the front desk and Mike the concierge for all their help with making our visit to the area a comfortable & memorable one. A friendly tip...if you enjoy breakfast it is well worth the price to get the package deal (includes the breakfast buffet) as the food & service is simply superb. We will come back again for sure.

The staff make you feel welcome throughout your stay. As for the hotel itself, it offers plenty of pools around the beautifully maintained property. Additionally, they have a climbing wall, a chipping hole by the small lake, a fire place for cooking marshmallows, a putting green, a nice walkway grotto which leads out to the pool area and lots of other nice touches. The free trolley connects the hotel with the time share hyatt residence property (which has a lazy river), a golf club (offering tennis courts at an additional fee) and the marina (though this is only a short 8mins walk from the hotel itself on the pathway). The hotel also offers a boat shuttle to its own private beach, providing umbrellas and chairs.

I believe the hotel has recently been decorated. The rooms are tastefully decorated and beds are very comfy! Everything is very clean and views are splendid across estero bay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the left side dont have A/C unit noise and offer nicer views. Ask for a high floor with a b...

It seems as though you were able to experience a lot of the amenities that we have here at the hotel. You are correct that we have recently renovated our guestrooms and we love to read the great comments about them. We do hope that you will come back again soon to try out all of the activities we have here again including the spa, golf, kayaking, paddle boarding and more! Last year my review of my annual visit to this hotel was titled " Wat til Next Year". I did wait and returned this year to the newly renovated hotel. All the shortcomings I found last year were corrected. This is a well run, beautifully maintained facility. The new rooms are very comfortable, especially appreciated are: the make up mirror in the bathroom, the double sinks in the bathroom, a small touch such as the adjustable over the bed reading lights, and the night light that goes on automatically when you leave the bed!
The staff is friendly, and a special shout out to the lovely concierge who recommended restaurants, and gave us coupons to use. The front desk obliged us with a stay on the Executive Lounge level to help celebrate my husband's birthday. This is a wonderful place to stay, even when the weather does not cooperate!

We recently stayed for 2 long weekends at the Hyatt for great rates we found online during our Florida tour. The time spent there was a highlight of our trip, the hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. Loved the glass of champagne on arrival - they know how to make you feel welcome!
We had fabulous views from our balcony where we watched a pair of ospreys who were nesting at the top of a very tall tree nearby, fortunately we had binoculars with us so we were able to watch them in some detail - fascinating!
We took the free boat over to Big Hickory Island several times and were lucky enough to see dolphins really close to the boat. The island is great and so relaxing - you need to take your own refreshments but there are restrooms, sunbeds and beach unbrellas there for your use and it's a great place to find some cool shells! Definately recommended. It's also worth going along to the hotel's sister property on the free bus. It has a great lazy river ride and several lovely pools, if you do not wish to see their ownership presentation then go on a Sunday.
It was a real treat to stay at The Hyatt, we enjoyed our weekend there so much we went back the following weekend and did it all again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a full balcony to get great views - the seats are comfortable and we saw some wo...

I visited this resort previously on business and did not have time to take advantage of the amenities, so a return trip was in order. I remembered that the public spaces and outdoor areas were outstanding, but that the guest rooms were a bit dated in that overused Florida tropical theme. To my delight, the newly renovated guest rooms are everything I expect from a contemporary Hyatt property: luxurious bedding, modern furniture, calming colors and materials. The property is still beautiful, the staff exceptional, and dining choices delivered a reasonable value.

Room Tip: There is a construction project for a new condo tower directly to the southeast of the property. Th...

I realize this review is late but we spent a few nights here for Spring Break in 2012. When we entered the property we were immediately impressed - it was absolutely beautiful. I was offered a mimosa at check-in and I knew it would just be complete relaxation.

The room was beautiful and well appointed and we all were very comfortable. The pool and grounds were stunning. The waterslide is tons of fun for kids and our children enjoyed it tremendously. The poolside bar offered a nice menu and we enjoyed our lunch their very much.

We loved the boat ride to the private beach. We were able to see dolphin along the way which made it even more amazing. We were a little disappointed in the beach itself - but then we are pretty spoiled with beaches we visit regularly (Outer Banks of NC and the Bahamas). Truthfully we weren't there for the beach though.

We had an absolutely amazing time and are planning out trip back in March 2013!
