“LOVED THE HYATT”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

My husband and I just got back from another great vacation where we stayed at the Hyatt Recgncy Coconut Point Resort & Spa. This is the 5th time we have stayed there in the last 5 years. We found this gem 5 yrs ago and it is so great we continue to go back each year we go to the Ft Myers area. It is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. Everyone talks with you when they see you. When we arrived we were offered champagne as we checked in. When we checked in our room was not ready at the time. It was almost sold out because it was the 4th of July weekend. They ended up giving us a beautiful veiw of the bay and the pool area on the 13th floor. We left to do some shopping and when we got back our room was ready. The hotel personnel later on sent us up some cheeses, bread, and a bottle of wine due to the delay of getting into our room. We found this after we got back to the room after going out to dinner. They also contacted us later to make sure everything was ok. Every year we have stayed here they have bent over backwards to make sure our stay was the most wonderful time that we could have had. We plan on going back again before the year is out and also next year for our annual summer vacation. If you use this hotel you will not be regret this decision. I know that this is the only hotel we will stay at when we visit this area.

This hotel was simply amazing. We paid $200 per night and stayed mid week with the family. Self parking was very convenient covered as it rained for one entire day. The property has 3 wonderful pools with a shuttle to the other property near by. The rooms were spacious and bright no problems with housekeeping. The only problem I see and this is not their fault is the mosquitoes were out of control. Highly recommend you carry repellent with you, but when traveling to Florida in the summer this should be a given. The front desk and concierge extremely helpful and lots of activities for families. Will come back but maybe during the Spring or Fall next time!

This place is just as beautiful as the pictures show. We enjoyed the private island beach, pools, and lazy river. Our room had an excellent view and was large with a king bed, however the furniture is a bit dated and could stand a Contemporary remodel. The room did not have that luxury feeling I expected, the bath tub looked like a homedepot special, you get my drift. We came to this hotel to relax and enjoy the outdoors, which we did for the most part. Except when the hotel closed down all the fun early! We knew this was not a beach front hotel, but really If you like to be on a schedule when you vacation come here, this is for you. The big negative for us is the beach ferry closed down at 4:15, hello the Sun sets at 8:20 its June then when you get back to the hotel the pool bar closes at 5:00. I guess they are scared of the mosquito's, which seem to swarm around 5:30. This is a major problem which can be remedied with a few mosquito repelent fogging machines around the property. This Hotel is nice but I won't be coming back, you are better staying at a beach side hotel to enjoy the beach with out schedule and no mosquitos. We recommend shopping and dining at the large coconut point mall. The T.G.I Friday is opened till 2:00 a.m. for you not on Bonita Schedule. zzzzzzz

Room Tip: Check your bed comforter, they don't seem to wash them ours had what appeared to be S#!t stains...

Thank you for your review and we will send your concerns to the proper departments. The boat not departing the property after 4pm unfortunately is due to the low tides that we have at that this time of the year. We do hope that you will reconsider visiting us again and letting us "wow" you again with our exceptional service.

For the 200 USD per night (low season rates) I would rate this hotel as very good, staff were friendly and helpful.
Champagne offered when checking in was a nice touch, rooms were big enough, well equipped and comfortable. Three pools, adult only, kids pool and a general pool. Pleasant landscaped grounds. The only thing that was missing for couples was a relaxing quiet bar, the main bar was linked to the main hotel. Tarpon restaurant (sea food) onsite was excellent although not cheap. All in I would rate this hotel as very good.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort: Bonita Springs, FL

Dates of Stay: Friday, 7/1/11 - Monday, 7/4/11
Total Nights: 3

In a nutshell, this property truly is the most beautiful Hyatt "resort" property in the State of Florida! It's stellar service cannot be surpassed, and each and every staff member truly goes the extra distance to make sure that each and every guest has the best possible experience!

Now, for my detailed review:

First, I need to preface this review by stating that it builds upon everything that I have previously stated about this property. I have posted two prior reviews, and the service continues to exceed my expectations! Please see those prior reviews for further information on this property:

“Another truly AMAZING stay at one of the best Hyatt Resorts around!!!” - March 21, 2011
“One of the nicest Hyatt Resorts in the U.S. - a property above all others!”" - November
30, 2011

Having had two absolutely amazing stays at this property, when my wife and I were trying to figure out what Hyatt Resort to spend our 4th of July at, the only property that came to mind was the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort. This was our second holiday spent at this property (the first being Thanksgiving, 2010) and yet again, this property exceeded all expectations and provided a truly wonder and amazing holiday. If you are looking for a beautiful waterfront property for a relaxing holiday weekend, the Hyatt Regency coconut Point Resort is the place for you!

Upon our arrival late a rainy Friday evening, we easily found parking in the extremely convenient attached "self parking" garage, and were within the Main Lobby within minute -- all without having to set foot out into the rain. And, when we arrived in the Main Lobby, the Front Desk Attendant was extremely polite and efficient, even apologizing for the "delay" in getting to us -- I must note that there was no delay at all, as we had to wait less than a few moments as one of the agents was carefully and politely dealing with a rather rude guest. Our Agent immediately recognized that we were repeat guests, and she welcomed us back and thanked us for being loyal Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Tier Members. She offered us -- and we gladly accepted -- a wonderful glass of champagne while she checked us in. She told us that we had been given the best room available as loyal Diamond Gold Passport Members, and was extremely quick and efficient. Within a matter of minutes, we were done at the front desk and on our way to our beautiful Bay Suite on the top floor, Rooms 1824/1825.

As usual at this property, we had booked a Bay Suite, knowing that these are truly some of the best rooms on the property. The Bay Suites consist of two rooms, a bedroom with a King Size bed as well as a second attached room that is a large parlor with multiple water view balconies. It must also be noted that the Bay Suites may also be booked in a two bedroom configuration if one has a family with children. The Bay Suites are truly beautiful, and I would highly recommend that anyone spending a long weekend here spend the little extra money to book one of these suites -- I promise it will provide you with some of the best views of Estero Bay that you will ever see! As usual, our Bay Suite completely surpassed all of our expectations -- it was on the top floor, the 18th, and that is the highest floor that we have ever been on. The high floor provided truly exceptional views of Estero Bay, and it provided us with some truly AMAZING views of numerous 4th of July fireworks celebrations. The Bay Suites are located on the corner of the hotel, on the water-view side, and the parlors provide views of both Estero Bay and the surrounding area. And, being on a corner, we were able to see fireworks from both the Miromar Outlet Mall on Saturday, July 2nd, as well as Fort Myers on Sunday, July 3rd, along with numerous other fireworks displays that could be seen for miles and miles. This room was truly the perfect place to come for a 4th of July fireworks weekend!

And, in addition to the views from the room, the property provided us with the perfect location for a long 4th of July weekend. The pools at this property are truly amazing, and offer a perfect place to relax and read. Despite the large 4th of July crowds, there was ample comfortable seating around each of the three pools. And, the poolside food and drink service was truly AMAZING! Despite the crowds -- and some rather unfriendly guests -- our server, Philip, was outstanding! He remember our name from the first time we were at the pool, and he made sure that our drinks were never empty. And, even when there was a "delay" in retrieving our drinks (meaning an extra minute or two, which was understandable due to the large orders from the unfriendly group next to us) he was highly apologetic. His truly excellent service proves that the pools at this property are some of the best and most relaxing around!

Furthermore, not only do the pools at this property always continue to offer excellent service, this hotel has a truly excellent recreation staff that provided plenty of things for people to do on the holiday weekend. First, in addition to the wonderful food offered at the standard pool bar, Corkscrew, being the 4th of July, each day the property held a traditional 4th of July Barbecue, offering hot dogs, burgers and an excellent BBQ chicken sandwich, in addition to snow cones for the kids. A truly wonderful way to allow all guests to celebrate the holiday. And, in addition to that, the property held plenty of other activities for families to enjoy the weekend, including: coconut bowling and corn hole. This property is always concerned for guest happiness, and it vastly exceeds anything that I have ever seen. If you need a property with plenty of activities for your family, this is the place for you!

Additionally, this property has recently added private cabana rentals. Unfortunately we did not book far enough in advance to obtain one, but they looked amazing! Currently, this property has two private cabana rentals available, and both are located by the main "Adventure Pool." They are available for one-day rental at $150, and they provide the following amenities: 2 Chaise Lounges, Sofa, Chair, Fridge, Ceiling Fan & Television. Based upon the price, they appear to be quite a great value -- you can avoid having to wake up early to stake out your pool chairs and shade by having this beautiful shaded location prepared for you. I would highly recommend that you take advantage of the new private cabana rentals on your next visit!

The food on property is also top-notch! Tanglewood offers a casual dining atmosphere, which my wife and I enjoyed for dinner one night. But, if you don't want to dine in a restaurant environment, this property also offers some of the best room service around! My wife and I always enjoy ordering breakfast in our Bay Suite -- our suggestions include the Eggs Benedict -- while watching the beautiful sunrise from our balcony. Also, room service for dinner is not to be missed, allowing one to watch the sunset while dining. All-in-all, the food at this property is truly top-notch!

And, one should not forget that this property has one of the nicest Regency Clubs of any Hyatt property that we have ever seen. Situated high on the 17th Floor, the Regency club at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point always exceeds our expectations. With plenty of hot breakfast and dinner selections, as well as truly amazing cookies all day, this Regency Club is definitely worth the extra money -- make sure to book a Regency Club room and I promise that you will not be disappointed! Additionally, not only is the food amazing, but the service is the best of any Regency Club that we have ever been to! In the evenings, you will find Marissa in the Regency Club, carefully attending to each and every guest request and making sure that every guest has everything that they need. Such exceptional service and wonderful food selection makes the Regency club fully worth the extra cost.

In conclusion, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort is truly one of the best Hyatt Resorts in the world, and it is definitely one property that should not be missed. If you want a wonderful property for a romantic weekend or a relaxing family vacation, this property is the place to go. With its exceptional customer service and amazing views, make sure you book your next Florida vacation at this truly amazing property!

Our family of 3 spent two nights at this beautiful resort June 24 and June 25th. We found this resort on Priceline and after doing some research on www.betterbidding.com we found a terrific price of $93 per night was accepted for a Friday and Saturday night. There is also a $20 a night resort fee which you pay extra at the hotel. When we arrrived, we chose to self park which is partly and underground parking and some outside parking. There is an elevator which will take you to the main lobby for check in. Don't waste your money on the valet, that costs extra too. We had a room on the 5th floor which faced away from the bay. We had a nice view with a balcony and chairs. We found our room to be very nice with two double beds, a nice chair, a desk with a chair, tv and airmoire, safe, etc..The resort is beautiful inside and out. We found the three pools just fine for use but you can get up and get in line at 8:30 a.m. to get a bacelet to their sister facility for other swimming options. You can also go their private beach on a boat but we never did that because we enjoyed the pool so much. There are lots of things you can do or just lay around and enjoy the pool and some nice cool drinks. We chose to be frugal and brought our own cooler to the pool and had just as good as drinks as those who shose to spend $10 or so on every drink. Do yourself a favor and stay here, bring your own drinks, and eat out at local establishments. If you happen to come to Bonita Springs, stay here. You won't be sorry. We came to visit our relatives who live in Bonita Springs. They told us it is the best place in Bonita Springs, and we have to agree. My only advice is to check your bill. When we got our check-out bill, someone had charged drinks to our room number. When I checked with the desk, They pulled the receipt and it appears another guest was dislexic and transposed the room numbers. When I asked how this could happen, the desk clerk said that they don't have a way to prevent that since they take peoples word for it what their room number is. I found that disappointing but they reversed the charges. They should have givien me a free coffee for my trouble but I'm not a big complainer. We had a great time and everyone was very nice. The starbucks coffee is great and the staff in there were the nicest of them all.

Great hotel, would definitely stay here again, and would have given it 5 out 5 had we not had one very poor incident in the restaurant. My husband and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and to get a last little getaway before we have our first child in September. We were both very pleased with the resort feel this place has. It has a very spacious pool area with 3 pools, including one with a water slide for the kids as well as an adult only pool. There isn't a beach on the property, but they provide a ferry that takes you to their own private beach/island. There are chairs and umbrellas at the beach, but nowhere to get drinks or food. They told us about that beforehand, but I still find it strange as it would be a great way for the hotel to make money. Many people came prepared with coolers and maybe people like it that way so they aren't overpaying for hotel drinks, but we didn't want to go to a store to stock up for a few hours on the beach during our 2 night stay.

We had a very spacious corner room with a lot of windows. The hotel is appropriately updated with nice furnishings. The workout room is also very big with plenty of cardio equipment (about 5 of each....bikes, treadmills, and elipticals). It also has a separate, equally sized weight room. There is no charge to use the workout facility when you're staying at the hotel.

The breakfast buffet was included in our very affordable nightly rate. Our experience at the restaurant was our only negative experience at the hotel. On our first morning, we took the breakfast voucher with us, gave it to our server, and had a very enjoyable buffet that included an omelette station, fruit, pancakes, waffles, etc. When we were ready to go, we asked the server if we had to sign anything since there was no charge for the buffet. She said no, and we asked if a tip was included for her and if not, could we leave one on the room. She brought us a zero dollar bill to which we added a tip. We found out later that the tip was included, so she wasn't truthful in order to get an additional tip. Then, to top it off, when we got the bill for our room, she had charged two breakfast buffets to our room. The front desk cleared the charge from our bill, but we found the server to be dishonest and lacked attention to detail. That was the only negative experience with the staff, everyone else was great.
