We had booked here using booking.com and had secured a room with a credit card. Despite the card having been used elsewhere in the USA for some reason the card issuer decided to decline the transaction as an 'anti-fraud' measure. Although we had provided out mobile number via the website the hotel made no attempt to reach us to try and resolve the problem and so we were told on arrival that the reservation had been cancelled and the room re-let. The woman at the desk couldn't decide anything without speaking to somebody on the phone and I gained the impression that they did have rooms but were unwilling to make them available despite us offering to pay cash.
Accepting that it wasn't the hotel's fault that the card was declined, they did nothing to try and help.More
