“better for families with children”
Reviewed January 7, 2011

My husband and I stayed here on the second night of our 25th anniversary trip. We had originally planned to be on the east side of the state by this point, but those plans fell through and we ended up here because of TripAdvisor. It was a mixed experience. The hotel itself is excellent – the rooms were lovely and well-appointed, including HighDef televisions in both the bedroom and living area, although we couldn’t find any HighDef channels. Dinner is included in the room price, with menus posted in the rooms, although they ran out of food about 10-15 minutes before the official “closing” time. They made more (tortellini that night) but were completely out of salad and breadsticks. They did, however, have plenty of beer and wine (also included) which was a nice touch. We had made last-minute reservations through hotels.com (an oversight on my part as I thought I was calling the Hilton line), and paid a premium price for the last room they had – a 2-bedroom suite with 3 beds. When we arrived for check-in, we were asked to consider taking a smaller suite since there were only two of us. I had no problem doing that – we were even allowed to go take a look at both suites before making our decision – but I was a little disappointed in the lack of compensation for it. I was told that they couldn’t offer any refunds because I had booked through hotels.com, but when I asked for additional Hilton Honors points, they said they couldn’t give those either. It was a nice surprise for the family that had originally booked the cheaper room we chose to have an upgrade – it would have been nice for us to have some sort of token of appreciation as well. Oh well, it was a nice experience, and a quiet hotel in a good location. I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic vacation, but it’s definitely a great place to stay for families and quick trips.

We stayed on the recommendation of our daughter's friend and I can't thank her enough for the recommendation. We had a double suite and it was roomy and comfortable. Even a pull out double bed in the living room. The beds were great and the view of the pool was nice. Conveniently located to shopping and about 3 miles from Bonita Springs Beach it was a lucky find. Yes, the breakfast was a little crowded, but the food was good and the workers were doing their best to keep up. All in all a real bargain for the price. Everyone was treated like family! We plan to return on every trip to Bonita Springs.

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite, which was great for our family of four as it also had two bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and the small kitchen that included a dishwasher was convenient. The complimentary breakfast was good and we also took advantage of the food on offer at the weeknight evening reception. We had a problem with the iron not working and a toilet becoming blocked, however it was all rectified quickly and easily. We chose to stay here due to its close proximity to the Everglades. The location was also convenient for food shopping with a supermarket and fast food outlets directly across the road.

Being cheap I ended up at this hotel. I should have paid up to stay at the beach or a resort because we where are vacation. But, I didn't and I ended up here. The rate is cheap and this beings all types. The staff seems very nice and it is is a good location. With that said he is the bad. Upon arrival we found a very serious cleaning issue. The rooms are newer but the hotel is very dirty and poorly kept. The food service is very very poorly managed. The breakfast is busy and they don't even try to keep up with the patrons. I had to go next door to Burger King several times. Again, you get what you pay for. I don't feel that I was ripped off, but believe I paid the right price for the property. If you are on vacation, pay up for the family to stay at the beach or a resort.

For the second year in a row, we stayed at this property while visiting family who live in Bonita Bay, right across the highway. There have clearly been some improvements to the property in the last year. The hotel is no longer dirty, the tacky aquarium was taken out of the reception area, and they have instituted a free dinner Monday thru Thursday. Judging by the number of New York/New Jersey accents, Hilton appears to be throwing serious management resources at this property. The boxes are no longer thrown out on the patio at breakfast time, but the breakfast product is clearly misrepresented. Although breakfast supposedly starts at 6:30, hot food was never available before 7 - 7:10 am on weekdays during our stay, and they seemed to have trouble keeping up with the crowds. They did not check regularly if the coffee was full, but waited until somebody (myself) told them that it was empty. The quality of the warm breakfast items was poor, usually a creation of bread, eggs and meat, whereas simply offering scrambled eggs, some decent meat and e.g. hash browns would have been adequate, as you could create your own "sandwich" combination with the bread and muffins available if you wanted to. The breakfast personnel seemed to constantly be searching for sympathy or pitty from the diners, which just seems bizarre from service sector personnel. At least half the time we did not even count on the hotel breakfast, but instead went to restaurant.

The rooms are bizarre. Although we had a one bedroom suite with a pull-out bed in the living room, the bathroom was only accessible through the bedroom, so it was limited in its privacy. There was also no balcony in the rooms, which is bizarre for a hotel in a state like Florida.

The internet cable plug-in is in a bizarre spot; we re-arranged the room to accomodate that.

Hotel personnel hangs around the reception desk quite alot, talking quite loudly, particularly in the early morning, giving the hotel a real "subprime" feel to it.

In the end, this is a highly utilitarian property, useful if you are looking for a reasonably priced dwelling in Bonita, with few frills. It is NOT a resort or a vacation stay, so don't come with those kinds of expectations. However, it is clearly a property where management is trying to improve the travel experience, were generally affable, despite the drawbacks to the propety (i.e. no balconies, dark rooms, etc.).

You are never sure of your choice until after it's all over. We spent a month in this hotel in December and were very glad that we did. The warmth & helpfulness of the staff at every given opportunity made our stay that extra bit special. Our 2 bed / 2 bath unit was nice & clean, our beds & pillows were very comfortable, and we had 3 flat screen TV's to entertain us. Breakfast was plentiful and we also enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine with an evening meal. (mon - thurs) The hotel is located quite close to the beaches and there is also some superb shopping & dining nearby. If you needed anything urgently there were also shops a couple of minutes away. (Publix, Target, Post Office etc)
We found that nothing was too far away, we took in a Christmas Show at the Germain theatre and found the roads were never really that busy. The hotel has good facilities but what made our holiday all the more satisfying was definitely the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff we met during our stay. Nothing at all was too much trouble for them :)

Only been open a few weeks when we arrived. Booked as Inn at the springs.
Excellent value, very friendly and helpful.
Suite spotless. Staff could not do enough for us.
The downside was the breakfast not enough choice for us English people mainly American dishes high in calories with very limited choice
The welcome back light meal (served 5to7) was well worth coming back for when the night drew in at approx 5.0pm
The rest of the facilities and staff made up for this.
Publix next door we did not starve.
