“Lovely outdoor spaces, small bath”
Reviewed February 6, 2014 via mobile

I would recommend this property to friends, with some reservations. This motel was as advertised, the grounds were very nice and room was quite basic with some extras like wifi, refrigerator, and microwave.

It was a nice alternative to a chain hotel, but I would not recommend it to everyone - I think the fact that it
Is an older property, is on a busy road, and has a small bathroom will not appeal to everyone.

That said, the price for a double room was very good. It seemed safe and the exterior was well lit at night. The breakfast was basic but well presented and looked after.

The biggest negative would be in regard to the bathroom - I was traveling with my mom who is in her mid 70s, and she commented that she would have liked a bar or something to hold onto when getting into and out of the shower/bath. Furthermore, the toilet and bath were in a very small room that would be awkward for a large person to use.

The lovely photographs of the courtyard attracted me to the property. I prefer a quiet location and was disappointed to find that our room was on the second floor facing a side street with the main thoroughfare half a block away. Needless to say, the traffic noise was overwhelming. The room itself was clean with relatively new touches except for the dark brown bedspreads which cover a multitude of sins. The breakfast consisted of cold cereal, yogurt, tasty apples, and deplorable white/brown cheap bread.
We found the property overpriced compared to similar accommodations. We would not stay here again.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We wanted a place that felt like Old Florida, not a multi-storied cookie cutter experience. The Flamingo Motel received excellent reviews on Trip Advisor, so we reserved a Villa for three days. The first impression is of the grounds, which are impeccably kept. The property is tucked away between other busy properties but it seems like an oasis. Our Villa room was well-appointed with complete kitchen accessories for extensive cooking. It was also spotlessly clean. The room was not overly decorated, but simple, with plenty of storage and lighting. A simple breakfast buffet is offered every morning with fruit, yogurt, pastries, juice and coffee. The best part is enjoying the landscaped areas and tiki hut, to eat or relax. The pool area was quiet and clean. A grill is also offered for anyone interested in grilling. I was surprised at the quiet atmosphere even though we were close to the street. The owner, John, is present constantly from early morning to late, cleaning, straightening, weeding. I love the pictures I took on the property and would go back in a heartbeat. Bonita Springs is centrally located between Naples and Ft. Myers, so you can easily explore the area. If you are looking for something hipster and modern, then this is not the place for you. If you want to try to experience what Florida was like before the big chains moved in, a place that is charming and personal, then this IS the place for you.

Room Tip: We stayed in Villa 108, second in from the street. Didn't notice the street noise there.

Expected more considering all the great reviews (almost all from snowbirds), but this is just a basic motel on a busy boulevard, surrounded by malls, about a mile from the beach.

Room was clean, pool area nice, breakfast was doughnuts, cakes and bland coffee.

If that's all you need then it will suit.

Good quality motel, clean room, stayed on 2nd floor, was very quiet.
Large room with suitcase stand, bureau, night stand with light, plenty of other lights.
Clean, reasonably large bathroom, adequate soap, towels, shampoo.
Excellent breakfast buffet, juices, coffee or tea, different bread types and
pastries, toast with toaster, very nice breakfast area both indoor and outdoor.
Plenty of parking in well lit lot.
Reasonably close to I-75 but far enough away to avoid highway noise.
Did close office at 6:00 p.m. but easily available by phone.

We spent one night there this past weekend and could not get over this really unique and wonderful place. We stayed in the garden cottage. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and cute the place was. It looked like everything had recently been painted, and it was decorated in a Key West style. The place was immaculate and John and Phillipe were wonderful. I was concerned when I booked this because the reviews on your website seemed too good to be true--but they weren't! The tiki garden was delightful and we could not believe that it could be so tastefully landscaped in such a small area, but it is tucked in between the apartments, the cottage, and the regular rooms. I was assured I would be pleased--and I was. It was a great value and the closest hotel to Bonita Beach. We had friends we were visiting that were staying on the beach, and they were as amazed as we were. A lot of love and care has gone in to the design and the maintenance of this tropical experience. We will definitely be going back! Thank you John and Phillipe. from Joyce and Clyde

Room Tip: Room 111 is for the cottage. It is romantic and roomy.
