What a great little place! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We went midweek for my birthday, and had the place to ourselves. We loved the porches, the golf cart, the boat ride to Useppa, the klondike bars in the freezer, the appetizers in the afternoon. The historic preservation and interior design is gorgeous. Oh, and the scrambled eggs were out of this world. Next time I go back, I am going to watch and figure out how to get them that fluffy. No beach, but a great, relaxing place to get away from it all. Loved the galleries on Pine Island and Matlacha too.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful visit at the Bokeelia Tarpon Inn. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Cynthia was truley a gracious and wonderful host. We felt right at home. The mansion is beautiful and spotlessy clean. The breakfasts are wonderful and inviting. Our room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. If you are looking for a romantic getaway....book here. The grounds are lovely and the fishing is great! It was awesome that my husband and I had a private pier
all to ourselves each night. And how convenient to be able to drive the golf cart right down to the pier with all our equipment on it. A restaurant is within walking distance and others are within a golf cart ride away. There is very little traffic and a wonderful seclusion to the island.

If you are looking for a place to start a new and wonderful life with someone, celebrate an anniversary, reconnect with your partner, or just steal away and disconnect from the world, you will find it here.

Thank you Cynthia, we had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon.

I was on a very difficult trip emotionally this past week. Your Inn provided a lovely respite for me even though it was too short a time. Cynthia was delightful and I would love to return to really enjoy the surroundings someday! I have already recommended it to a few friends.

The great smelling towels and their absorbency was delightful. You have a stellar place!

Blessings,

Hard to know where to begin. We just completed a short (3-day, 2-night) getaway at this wonderful B&B. Earlier reviews about cover it, especially SusieG from England just before this one. Some additional amenities: there are two boat slips with lifts available to guests, along with a boat ramp, there is a huge secure fishing/sunset watching pier, golf carts are provided for guests to tour the area, etc., etc.

Just a very well thought out and well run place. Of course, the fact that it is a beautiful facility, beautifully maintained and at a beautiful site doesn't hurt anything.

The Inkkeeper, Cynthia, was friendly, bright and accommodating, a great hostess.

We will return; next time with boat.

I used the Tripadvisor forum (as I always do) for suggestions for somewhere to stay overnight that wasn't part of a hotel chain. This historic B & B got rave reviews - and now we know why! It is a large plantation-style old house at the very tip of Pine Island in Bokeelia overlooking the sea. It has been beautifully restored with original floors, wonderful furniture and paintings. There are 5 big en-suite bedrooms, all very different, immaculately clean, with wooden plantation shutters and all sorts of extra touches you would never find in a modern hotel. The bedrooms lead onto a huge screened veranda with rattan chairs, wonderful views and even binoculars left for you to use and watch the wildlife.
Downstairs there is a large lounge with wonderfully comfortable chairs and dining area and a separate study , and outside in the gardens rocking chairs on the veranda - just so relaxing. Check out their website for their photos and video-tour; it will give you an idea of how lovely it is.
The Innkeeper, Cynthia and her husband, Jim, don't live on site but come in to prepare breakfast, which was truly the best we have had on holiday - all sorts of fresh fruit, home-baked muffins, choice of fried breakfast and their own special home-made mango preserves - just delicious. In the evening they prepare a range of hors d'oeuvres for their guests which they leave in the kitchen with a note to eat what you like, and help yourselves to wine, beers, spirits etc!!!
When my husband and I were there in a very hot September we happened to be the only guests there, so had the run of the house - quite amazing! We just loved it and will definitely be going back to spend longer there.
The only drawback is that there is little to do in Bokeelia - apart from fishing, which is the main attraction - but that is what attracted us; it is a beautiful area, very peaceful, with no through-traffic. There are a couple of restaurants, but that is all. But if you want a very superior place to stay in a beautiful quiet place, this is for you!

My husband and I just completed a 5-night stay at this lovely, upscale B&B on Pine Island. Breakfasts were terrific and each evening we were treated to a special platter of hors d'oeuvres and complimentary wine. Our hostess made us feel so at home. The neighborhood was peaceful and a great location (right on the water) for watching the pelicans and osprey. We will definitely be visiting again.
