Great "old Florida" experience. Cabbage Key offers a super relaxed, laid back vibe. Obviously taking their cue from the owner Rob, the staff is exceptional. Our waiter, Scott, was great, giving us all the local info while flawlessly serving us the freshest and best Red Snapper I've ever tasted. Katie, oversees the small bar that feels like you just stepped into a Hemingway novel. I recommend dark rum and orange juice with a splash of pineapple!
Looking forward returning soon.

Room tip: The cabins give you a little separation from the crowd that shows up everyday at lunch for the "Cheeseburger in Paradise".

The best on the Key are the dock masters. No matter how busy they are they will make the worst "land -crab" feel like a Captain.
Stayed in the Blue Heron and had a wonderful peaceful stay. The house has a big veranda where I could do yoga in the morning. The kitchen has all you need, so you can cook or go to the Inn to eat. Beds and bath were all fine and clean.
There is not a lot to do on the island. The nature trail takes about 10 minutes to walk around, so bring your own boat or a good book.

Had such an amazing afternoon. Staff were so incredibly friendly and the deserts were to die for. “frozen” key lime pie was the best ever tasted!!! Thanks for making it such a great day. We will be coming back as soon as we can!

After a relaxing trip from Punta Gorda aboard a Kingfisher Fleet boat, we arrived at Cabbage Key fir lunch. despite being the lunch hour snd Spring Break, they were able to efficiently handle the crowd. The food was delicious and our server very personable and prompt.

We arrived with children ages 10, 10, 9, and 4, on a day trip aboard the Lady Chadwick out of Captiva. We waited an hour for our table for lunch. There was only one entrance/ exit to the restaurant. Wait staff had to navigate through long lines of waiting customers with trays full of food and drinks, to serve diners on the patio. It was chaos. Once we were finally seated, we found there was NO children’s menu the only thing on the menu suitable for a child was the grilled cheese sandwich, which we ordered for our kids. The “adult” menu was limited, and there was NO draft beer. I ordered their “cheeseburger in paradise” which was average at best. They have NO French fries. The burger was served with a scoop of mediocre potato salad. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. This place has a captive audience and it shows. We have been here previously during non-high season and had a somewhat better experience: still mediocre food, but no hour wait. The boat ride and scenery are pleasant, and there is a short pleasant nature trail on the island, but prepare to be disappointed by the restaurant.
