If you want "Asian fusion" go elsewhere; if you want authentic Chinese food, go to a Uncle Tai's. Good American-style Chinese food (I haven't been to Shanghai or HongKong). But as an ex-NYer who spent many hours at lunch and dinner at restaurants on or near Mott street and on business trips in San Francisco and L.A., I've had good Chinese food. This is too!

Service is just 'ok', otherwise the place would get an "excellent" review from me.

While not my most favorite meal or place to eat, the food is not exceptional...and for the price, I feel like it should be better than it is. The place is reasonably clean, yet still feels not as clean as it is. For the amount of money paid, they could give more food and a better flavor profile. To take this place up a level, they should revamp the menu to include less items, more flavorful alterations to traditional meals. It seems like I've ordered Chinese in a shopping plaza, just served on fancier dishes. Could be better.

Nice-looking senior wait-staff and on the ball. However, food was either bland or without imagination.

Please, avoid.

My family and friends have been dining here since soon after its opening. It is a family-owned restaurant and the owners greet many of their regulars by name. It is more upscale and traditional than most restaurants that serve similar cuisine. The Crispy Fish, Hunan Style is one of their most popular specialities and I often see large groups order it. The Crispy Beef, the Hot-and-Sour soup and all of their shrimp dishes are particular favorites of our family.

They offer several speciality drinks. (No novelty glasses.) You can also order from a large wine menu. Wine by the glass is pricy compared to most restaurants.

I find that this restaurant has different Menu selections than many other Asian/Indonesian/Chinese restaurants. The menu has changed over the years, as have some of the chefs who have gone on to start their own restaurants. is one of their specialities and I often see large groups order it. I have multiple food allergies and cannot always get the same thing. (My guess is that it depends upon whether the chef feels able to make the dish egg-free). My daughter has a peanut allergy and is able to select nearly any of the dishes without any issue.

While it is priced higher than most similar restaurants, we go for the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly owners and specific favorite dishes. They offer a fixed-priced dinner that includes a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert that has enough variety to satisfy most customers. There is dining inside and outside.

We dined with a family of seven. Many had dined here a few years ago and had amazing memories of the best meal. Well unfortunately something had changed. The food was average however with entree prices averaging above $20 amazing should be delivered. The setting is nice, service lovely but the food simply is not worth the high price.
