“Authentic Cuban Cuisine”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Padrino's is a neighborhood restaurant in the Mission Bay shopping center, but it is like dining in Cuba. The food and the staff are Cuban. The ambiance is plain, but comfortable. The service is attentive without being intrusive. The waiter staff is eager to help and explain any dishes you are not sure of. The Cuban bread served while waiting is warm from the oven, light and airy, with a hint of garlic. The food is wonderful. Everything is prepared to order and done just right. The poortions are large enough to take home a second meal.

During lunch, there is a buffet, but I did not try it. I'm not big on buffets and prefer to order off the menu. There are also lunch specials, but you can order anything off the menu.

All in all, this is a real gem in an otherwise typical shopping center with chain restaurants (Panera's, TGIFriday's, etc)

“A surprisingly good Cuban restaurant”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

I think this is the best Cuban restaurant in the north Broward-south Palm Beach County area now that Las palmas is out of business. We had a really delicious ropa vieja and a lechon sandwich. The sopa de pollo was not very good however. It did not taste homemade. (Again, I lament the loss of Las Palmas.) In short, this is a really good Cuban restaurant. It is also both a pleasant place to eat and quite cheap. It is in the shopping center right across 441 from the Shadowood movie theater, so it is easy to combine a film and dinner.

“Amazing food, please order the yucca...”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

For yucca lovers, it is hard to find good yucca, this tuberous root puts to the potato to shame and Padrino's knows how to do it right.... Ther service was lovely, the mojitos were STRONG and the service was comendable. This location is in a shopping center but has outside seating. We loved everything. Highly recommend!

“MMMMMMMMMMM! Delicious!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

My favorite entree (among many) is the Lecon Asado, seasoned pieces of roasted pork so tender it almost melts in your mouth, along with the traditional black beans and rice. One of my friends is more of a meat and potatoes person. I tasted her french fries, which were also delicious. The meals come with traditional Cuban bread, lightly buttered and toasted. Their homemade Sangria is addictive. It is mild, fruity, and scrumptious. For dessert (if you have any room left!) is a very good tres leches (3 kinds of milk) cake topped with whipped cream. Very very sweet and milky, if you like little cakes like this.

“a personal favorite.”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

This is an establishment we have been frequenting for years and never a bad meal. The prices are unbelievably reasonable and the portions are incredible. They go all the way from full meals to huge Cuban sandwiches that can feed two. Everything comes with your choice of many side dishes....all delicious.
