We've been there twice and both times found the food excellent. Reading the earlier views, perhaps they had growing pains but the "ugly caterpillar" is now a beautiful butterfly, well worth visiting again and again. Yes it's Kosher -- no shrimp or lobster, but more than made up for the the range of choices beyond those in many Chinese restaurants: chicken, beef, duck, lamb, veal, each in a variety of Chinese settings with excellent taste. The soup was souped. We look forward to working (eating) our way through the menu Some of my guests can be quite picky but they ate with gusto and want to return as well. It's not a large place so reservations are suggested. Yes, the manager has his own approach to "humor" and perhaps that was viewed as rudeness by one of the reviewers, but its not often the manager is circulating around chatting with the guests. We were also impressed by the friendliness of the patrons. We saw a lovely dish being served at the next table and I apologetically asked what it was. The patron immediately offered me a taste.
