“Really pleased to find this”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

We were happy to find Way Beyond Bagels and have had nothing but good experiences. My husband is a bagel-and-whitefish-salad kind of guy, and not only does he really like the WBB food, we find the service good and the staff friendly and accommodating. I'm particularly pleased with the salads and prepared foods and soups (as I am not a bagel and anything kind of girl). I have not found the prices to be out of line. In fact they compare favorably to the bagel place we used to go where the service was nowhere near as friendly. Turkey chili, spinach and pear salad, chicken pot pie. And a $10 coupon when you make a large purchase. More than anyone else is doing for their customers. Thank you!

“Way overpriced for what you get!!”
Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

You're kidding me right? This place is a joke- charged me $7.25 for a bagel with turkey Swiss and tomato. Then I get it and the cheese is not melted, the meat is cold- really? On a breakfast sandwich? The tomato is almost yellow it's so bad.. And the service was not great.
I was excited to try it because we are moving nearby but I will NOT be returning.. Shame on them for ripping people off like this.

“BE CAREFUL”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Good place, decent products, geared to high volume and often with long lines and no parking spaces. The real problem is that they hate their good customers. If you purchase 50.00 dollars worth of product you get a coupon for 10.00 of on your next purchase of 25.00 dollars or more.. yes a little confusing, but.. if you buy 200.00 dollars worth of product you still only get one 10.00 dollar off card so make sure you divide your order into smaller amounts and check out more than once so you can save a lot more money. Then it gets even worse, if you are making a purchase and want to redeam your card for 10.00 dollars off on a 25.00 dollar purchase and say once again you are making a 200.00 dollar purchase then you can only use one coupon, but even though you should get 4 new coupons, they will not even give you one. Again divide the purchase and use the 10.00 dollar card on the first 25.00 dollars worth of product and then get new cards in groups of 50.00 dollar purchases. Wow now you are up about 100.00 dollars. Be careful, If you try to talk to them about the process they get really loud and really nasty. Perhaps it is just best to shop elsewhere..

Rachel S, General Manager at Way Beyond Bagels, responded to this review, March 20, 2013
Marshel,

We here at Way Beyond Bagels always appreciate loyalty, and most of our “good customers” would agree that we go above and beyond to make them feel entirely accommodated. Our regulars are people that come in several times a week, work or live nearby, and always have nothing but nice things to say. The “good customers” of which you speak, along with everyone else who walks in the store, have a plethora of discounts available to them. Many customers make great use of our sandwich cards which offer free sandwiches, get 6 free bagels with their purchase of a dozen on Monday-Wednesday, indulge in our weekday afternoon homemade salad special, and our Morikami Museum membership discount.
In regards to our 50/10 coupon cards, we greatly applaud your accounting skills, but we will take the time to point out a glaring discrepancy. We first implemented the 50/10 coupon cards with the intention of offering an incentive to customers who spend $50.00 or MORE on one purchase in the store. Coupons are by NO MEANS guaranteed, and “good customers” are familiar with the fact that coupons are rewards. Our 50/10 cards are not allotted per 50 dollars spent, or the fine print would say so (which it doesn't). Our cards state “one coupon per visit, per order, per 24 hrs" Meaning, one card is allotted every time your purchase exceeds $50 on Monday-Friday. It is not confusing, it is in black and white.

We thank you for your patronage, and wish you to return to enjoy our delicious food.

“Good, but wouldn't go out of my way”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

The staff was attentive & helpful. My breakfast sandwich was OK, but would've been much better if the ingredients had been freshly prepared. Although I would return, I would not go our of my way to do so.

“Good, but didn't knock my socks off”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

We drove a long way to get to this bagel shop. The cream cheese was good, the bagels were a little on the dry side (spinach everything). We regretted not getting them toasted, but server assured us they were just made and would be soft -- that wasn't the case, maybe it would have been so had we chosen a more popular flavor of bagel. The brownie was very sugary tasting rather than emphasizing the chocolate. There were some Christmas colored sprinkles stuck to the back of it which made me wonder how long it had been sitting there...it's a very cute and cheerful place and the staff was super nice to us, but I do wish the food had been better.
