“Nice conference site resort”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

A nice resort property. The main hotel is not on the beach, but has a variety of recreational options (and is directly on the huge tennis center and the golf course). Good service, comfortable rooms, acceptable WiFi which was not surcharged. Didn't use business center or gym. Atmosphere is consistently upscale.

We are staying in a separate part of the resort in relation to most of the people here. It is isolated in a random location, and the room is quite small, with no enough space. Also, in order to get to the main part of the hotel, the beach, restaurants, or other amenities on the property, you must wait on a shuttle, which takes about 15 minutes just to get to your place. Extremely confusing, and not worth the money at all.

I have been a member of this resort for 5 years, and stayed there for many years prior. Since this property was bought by Blackstone, they have turned this once wonderful and glamorous hotel into a below average hotel that values making money over providing service. The facilities are gorgeous, but Blackstone only cares about profit, not pleasing members and guests. The Beach Club was renovated and looks very nice, but why did they remove all the hot tubs? The food service at the beach now consists of mediocre expensive food served in plastic containers, ridiculously overpriced snacks at the gift shop ($8 for a bottle of water!) and a pathetic "buffet" that doesn't even allow diners to take a second helping and charges extra for dry chicken or fish. The gyms are a disappointment for a high end property. The main gym has embarrassingly old equipment. The new gym at the Beach Club is nice, but has a terrible assortment of machines for weight lifting. Clearly, they did not have a professional design the new gym. Amazingly, hotel guests and members have to pay $25 to use the sauna and hot tub at the spa, how sad. As far as New Years Eve 2013, we attended the poolside party which was incredibly poorly run. They were understaffed, diners were clearing their own tables, bars ran out of Champagne. The food was left out with nobody cleaning the displays. We watched the shrimp on ice melt onto the floor. Nobody bothered cleaning it up. The food quality was also below par. And this for $200/person!
The worst incident I witnessed was at the hotel bar after the New Years Party ended. It was 1:45 AM and about 40 hotel guests and members were enjoying their drinks, when apparently management decided that the bar had to close. Even though guests were having fun and spending money!!! Armed police offices and the manager on duty intimidated guests into leaving the bar. It was a disgraceful display, but perfectly symbolizes Blackstone's attitude towards it's guests and members.
I am seriously considering canceling my membership. I do not recommend staying at this resort until Blackstone either sells this property, or at least changes their management and their attitude. Fellow members who feel similarly, please contact me.

What a great place!

My family and I spent six nights at the resort. We loved every minute of it!

The room that we had in the Tower was in great shape, and had a beautiful view of Lake Boca.

We used the golf course, shuttle services, boat to the beach property, the beach services, the spa, the tennis facility, and three of the restaurants on the property. Each of these was very good.

Like any large upscale resort, you are going to encounter some employees that are more service oriented than others. The ones who really care about your business make up the majority here, and they make this a great place to take a vacation.

Room Tip: Stay in the Tower. It's worth the extra money because the rooms are in great shape and they hav...

We made our first visit there in the 90'a. It was a amazing experience with first class service every place. Since the then we've stayed there couple of times, but after last two visits decided not to go any more. Boca Resort is now an ordinary Hilton, with no extra hospitality or service. People ordinary employees, some rude some not. The old time glamour and atmosphere is gone. What a pity it used to be a place to stay in Boca...

Room Tip: Choose an other hotel. Try Breakers.

We stayed here for a number of nights whilst visiting family in Florida. This was not my first choice hotel as we couldn't get into others we had stayed in before. We had a room that was about £400 per night not including breakfast or anything else. The room was very tired & desperately needed updating. There was work going on at the hotel, unfortunately, right outside our room!!!!! The restaurants were very average & overpriced for the quality... Definitely go to the local restaurants, lemongrass, chops etc. which are about a 5 min walk. Other annoying things are having to get a shuttle to & from the beach every day which are rammed full and getting back to our room at 4.30pm and it still not being cleaned!!!!! If you can call it clean in the first place. Honestly, go to The Breakers instead, much much better. Or to the ritz carlton in Naples on the other coast line. Golf was also average.

Pretty attentive staff but something definitely seeming to be lacking. The property is an older hotel and has character but is not right on the beach. Don't confuse this with the Boca Beach club which is on the beach. While this property has access there, it is a boat ride or shuttle bus ride away. While you can walk to town and Mizner Park, the hotel grounds aren't really tailored to walkers. In fact, the jogging trail goes along the employees access road (on the road actually) and there are many cars driving by fast. There are lots of little rooms and places to sit and talk or hang out which are very nice.

Room Tip: Get a view of the intercoastal or one of the balcony rooms in the cloisters
