Found this place on TripAdvisor on our way to the Key Deer refuge. Loved it as I was looking for a Cuban sandwich. A very mom-pop type place although it is run by a feisty but friendly woman whose (looks like) mother does 80% of the cooking. Had a 'taco special' on a Wednesday which was very good, I haven't had a tastier ground beef taco in years. Know that if busy, you may partially serve yourself as only two people operate it, but the food is 'fast' type food, but in a higher quality way compared to chains. A nice relief from the Keys prices after visiting for 5 days.

Wow, the sauteed chicken is just divine and loved the avocado salad. Nice and clean. No alcohol but worth a try just because of Rose~!

Cocos is small and off the main highway, but well worth a try. We eat breakfast there usually twice a week. It is the best on Big Pine offering cuban style entrees as well as the usual. Cafe Con Leche is the best. Lunch is excellent also. Most times there is a wait for a table, then it takes a while to get your food, but everything is prepared to order and cooked by a true cuban lady. Two women run the place with ease. Prices are excellent.

We had breakfast here. Service was slow and surly. For a $5 breakfast, it is just what you would expect (plastic forks and all). Had the grits mash-up. Two eggs and a wafer-thin slice of ham in a bowl of grits. I've had better in Mississippi (and I'm not bragging on Mississippi). Coffee was dreadful. Frijoles negros were on the menu but unavailable. The gal behind the bar tries to do it all and seems beaten down. I found it depressing.

Food was cheap and not bad not bad if you like eating on a paper plate with a cheap plastic fork. But the unwashed mangrove bums at the next table reeked off BO and last nights booze. Never again.
