Not much of a hunt to find these amazing critters. Just drive off the main drag and they are hanging in people's front yard. About the size of medium dogs.

It is an amazing little neighborhood where the deer just roam around and practically walk the streets . It is worth the time. Don't even need to leave the car.

Do visit this educational storefront. The workers are very friendly and knowledgable. You can pick up literature and gifts. The Key Deer are fascinating, and be sure to watch for them crossing the busy roads around Bug Pine Key.

I was so confused about what to do. This isn't a park. It's a safe zone for Key Deer. There are neighborhoods. You just drive around, slowly, and you will see deer out and about. We saw one coming out of No Name Key, on the side of the road. We then went down a residential street and saw 2 in someone's front yard. We also went to Blue Hole and saw an alligator and peacocks. The deer are not afraid of cars, so it was quite scary to go even as fast as the speed limit!

We drove down several alleys and saw 2 cute deers. On 15th of October.
If you are driving south or north on the keys you can make a nice surprise to the kids.
We did not leave the car.
