“Gorgeous untouched beach.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

Well worth stopping although water was too chilly for swim..ing. Ocean kayaks available and looked like fun. Walking on beach was very pleasant. Lots of birds. White sand. Crystal clear water quite a ways out. A short walk to see the railway from '30s Flaglers Folly. Good restrooms and changing rooms . Outside shower. Picnic areas. Plenty of parking. Entry fee of 4.50 seemed a bargain to me. Clean.

“awesome camping”

My parents come every February and in 2013 i joined them. Quiet, relaxed and perfect for fishing or snorkeling. Bring your kayak and cruise around! Beaches are nice and people are friendly.

“pristine!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Day trip x 3, couldn't keep coming back again and again while staying down in the keys. Fun to hike back far into the park where the channel breaks towards the gulf side. Lots of coconut trees to shade under. Thought snorkeling would have been fun on the atlantic side, but to even get to water chest high, you would have to go about a least a mile or more off the beach! Someone told us it was because of the coral reefs offshore. Can't wait to go back!

“Interesting to see a Keys "Beach".”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Went to spend the day at the beach so our daughter could enjoy our trip to the Keys. She's a beach and water lover.

As we had read about the "beaches" in the keys not being a typical beach, we saw what people mean by that. The beach itself is a thin strip. Not a lot of room to lay out blankets and spread out with the crowd. And for the water itself, which warm and clear and turquoise, it is not very "swimmable" much below 1/2 tide. Because it gets too shallow, I'm talking less than knee deep. You can basically just "wallow" in it. Cannot go out very far because the sea grass beds about 100 feet out get even more shallow. The sand bars are only up right along shore.
