I had lunch today at Makoto at the Bal Harbour Shopping Mall and everything was perfect. Fantastic food great service and very knowledgable staff that gave very good recommendations about specific dishes.

Wonderful experience and it will certainly not be the last time that I will dine there.

It is worth every penny

We simply love this upscale, New York chic, Asian restaurant. It's a bit pricey but delectable. Try the short ribs, chicken salad, salmon, tuna tartare or most anything. Tonights Branzino was amazing! The terrace is lovely on a temperate day. Sadly, our service was poor this evening but we alerted management and shall return.

While they have sushi they also have so many other dishes that anyone in a group can find something they like. There are rolls, vegetarian options, robata specials and rice/noodle dishes. We ordered lots of different dishes and shared the plates among our group. Everything tasted fresh and had interesting sauces or spices. Our server was friendly and patient and while the location is not particularly pleasant (the outside tables overlook a parking lot), the people watching at Bal Harbour is always interesting. Avoid the desserts, (they are the weak link on the menu), and put your money toward the specialty cocktails. They are worth a try!

Best restaurant in Miami, hands down. Try the tuna on crunchy rice and kobe beef cooked on a hot stone in front of you
