My husband and I received a gift card to Mona Lisa's for the holiday's. At the time, it was for Mona Lisa's Italian Restaurant. We tried making reservations there over the winter, but it was never open. I guess they were in the process of changing ownership, so when we were finally able to get there, we were surprised to see that it was no longer just Italian food, and now it's a European bistro.
We ordered a lot of different foods so we could get the full experience. We shared the deviled eggs and frog leg app's, and then shared two entrees. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies, and he ordered the game hen with frites and creamed peas. Both meals were amazing, especially the lamb chops. The frites are as good as any Belgian fries we've gotten anywhere (even Belgium), and everything was prepared perfectly. We had never tried frog legs before, but we were surprised how much we enjoyed them.
We decided that everything else was so good, we had to try at least one dessert, so we split the triple chocolate Belgian mousse, and that too was amazing. Our waiter was also the owner of Mona Lisa's, and he's a very friendly man. He explained that his wife is a pastry chef and she makes all the desserts at the restaurant. We loved the dessert, and want to come back to try some of her others.
