We visited on a quiet evening over the 4th of July weekend. Though we had eaten at Mona Lisa when it was an Italian restaurant, this was our first visit since its reopening under new ownership. What jewel for Wilmington! As soon as we entered, we felt like we were in the heart of old Europe. The service was was great, the food (especially the mussels) was fantastic, and (thanks to the quiet evening) we had a delightful opportunity to talk with Jacque, the new owner. If you haven't been to Mona Lisa Euro Bistro, you are missing out.

We visited Mona Lisa Euro Bistro for the first time tonight. What a treat! The food was excellent and exceptional service. We started with the Spanish mussels and broiled oysters. Delicious. I loved the particularly enjoyed the tarragon on the broiled mussels. I had the lamb chops and the Dijon was amazing with the sauce. My husband had the veal schnitzel and that was great too. Based on other reviews, we saved room (barely) for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the Triple Chocolate Mousse. We had a lo ely date night and will definitely be back!

My husband and I received a gift card to Mona Lisa's for the holiday's. At the time, it was for Mona Lisa's Italian Restaurant. We tried making reservations there over the winter, but it was never open. I guess they were in the process of changing ownership, so when we were finally able to get there, we were surprised to see that it was no longer just Italian food, and now it's a European bistro.

We ordered a lot of different foods so we could get the full experience. We shared the deviled eggs and frog leg app's, and then shared two entrees. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies, and he ordered the game hen with frites and creamed peas. Both meals were amazing, especially the lamb chops. The frites are as good as any Belgian fries we've gotten anywhere (even Belgium), and everything was prepared perfectly. We had never tried frog legs before, but we were surprised how much we enjoyed them.

We decided that everything else was so good, we had to try at least one dessert, so we split the triple chocolate Belgian mousse, and that too was amazing. Our waiter was also the owner of Mona Lisa's, and he's a very friendly man. He explained that his wife is a pastry chef and she makes all the desserts at the restaurant. We loved the dessert, and want to come back to try some of her others.

Mona LIsa is now Mona Lisa Euro Bistro under the new management of Jacques Macq. We went there last night for dinner and enjoyed the food and the service. The room was busy, but the service was smooth and friendly. Jacques is from Belgium, so I ordered one of the four ways they serve Moules, and they were delicious. The obligatory frites were also very good! My starter, a roasted beet salad, was also nicely prepared. We will go back!
