a nice restaurant, rather noisy for european standards, food was well prepared and service was prompt and willingful. Location is great next to the Boardwalk on the Christina riverfront.

“Great Service & Incredible Sweet Potato Fries!”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

While in Wilmington over the weekend, I tried Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant for the first time. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was great. Based on the server’s recommendation, I tried the seasonal Belgian Ale. It had a really good taste. I definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys Belgian ale.

As a starter, I shared the hummus plate with my dining companion. It was served with a nice variety of fresh vegetables and pita wedges. I followed up with the jumbo lump crab cake sandwich and sweet potato fries as my entree. The crab cake was wonderful and the sweet potato fries were incredible. Be sure to try the fries with the bourbon vanilla cream dipping sauce.

I highly recommend the Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant and cannot wait to try one of their other locations.

Went for lunch on a really nice, sunny day and wanted to sit outside. The upper deck was open but the downstairs seating was closed. We were told by the hostess to "...just go upstairs to see if seating was available." REALLY??? We walked upstairs and no one even paid attention to us. Was told by a bartender to just walk outside and find a table and someone would wait on us. Went outside. People were arguing over who was next in line for a table. Finally seated, we waited for what seemed like forever until a waiter came over and actually stated “I saw that no one was waiting on you so I will take your order". Food was average lunch fare at best. Not worth the aggravation. Iron Hill is OFF THE LIST FOR LUNCH!!!

“Hot spot on the river”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Great find during a short trip to Wilmington.
Located on the river front (right in front of the Riverboat Queen), we sat up on the mezzanine overlooking the river in the sun. It was a hot spot for locals and tourists alike. The beer (brewed in the building) was average for a microbrewery, but the food was excellent. The menu was an extensive a mixture of large entrees and delicious sharing side dishes (such as creatively filled spring rolls). Just lovely.
