“Great food, odd service advice”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

I think the new location near the Grand is better than the old although the atmosphere was cozier before. The food remains excellent and i hope they keep this up. Our server, Michael, on the other hand gave strange recommendations. We wanted a plate of Iberico di Bellota and some manchego to start and he suggested we have it at the END of the meal because "<you>wouldn't taste it since <you> are hungry. Better to have it after you have eaten everything else. There is a reason they serve this after meals over there." REALLY. They MUST be doing it wrong in Spain then, vs "over there". Not sure we would have appreciated the Iberico after eating croquettas and empanadas etc. We pressed on in ordering said dish to which the reply was "if you insist". Anyhow, point is, we will come back. Hopefully, not at Michael's table.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

Restaurant half empty. Food presentation, service and quality for 4 dishes was fair to poor. Complaint to management was addressed by "what do you want us to do?". Owner finally called on Monday evening, she was extremely rude and defensive rather than trying to sincerely address the issues. Way over priced for poor quality and service. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

“Very good and I hear the full menu's even better”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We went on New Year's Eve, when a shorter version of their menu was available in addition to a prix fixe menu, which I got. It was 4 courses of delicious veggie, meat, and seafood combinations - plus dessert - and despite the term "small plate", I was completely stuffed by the end of the meal! My husband ordered off the menu and was shocked that the 1/2-order of paella was enormous - definitely not tapas! He's been there a few times and really likes some items (like ceviche) that are on the normal menu. I did think it was petty to charge us for toast points ($4) rather than just hand those out on request. Anyway, I would go back!

“Excellent Tapas Restaurant”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

The food is great and luckily, because most of it is small plates, you can sample quite a few things. Great for a table of four if you don't mind sharing.

“Something different in the City that sleeps by 7 pm!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

So downtown Wilmington isn't the most vibrant place after dark, but this Spanish Tapas bar is a very nice eatery - nicely decorated in burnt oranges and browns which gives it a non-gaudy Spanish vibe. Our group of 14 chose the chef's tasting menu consisting of a variety of small plates. Given what fussy eaters we are (a couple of us don't eat seafood and a few are vegetarian) that wasn't the best idea because a lot of food did not get eaten even though it was good. Most of it included seafood and those who ate it said it was good. The friend cheese and tomatoe crostini was yummy. Salads came with sardines (yuk) but you can simply ask not to include it. The wine list was okay. They seem to have a limited. At menu but we all managed to drink plenty regardless. I would go back again and this time concentrate harder on looking at the menu which seemed to have a good. variety to Tapas. Portions weren't overly generous ( maybe snug for two or three?) and this isn't cheap but it was good and great for the uniqueness factor. Loads of weekend parking right there.
