Best breakfast sausage I have ever had, we stayed at the nearby Best Western on a recent visit & drove to Helen's almost everyday of our stay for breakfast. Excellent food at fantastic prices, the staff were exceptionally friendly, & loved the Elvis room. Not a fancy place by far but the fried sausage is to die for! They also sell the sausage raw so sure enough we packed our cooler with 10 lbs of sausage for our 960 mile ride home :)

We go there at least once a week and enjoy the great selection of sandwiches. We also purchase 10 lbs of sausage each year at christmas and easter for breakfast.

Let's face it, if you've ever been to Helen's you know that this isn't made for dining in. 95% of the customers are getting a sandwich for the road. While they have many items on their menu, the item most people come for is the sausage sandwich. So you see this place, which is a dive, and wonder why are all these people lined up in the middle of nowhere for a sausage sandwich? It is because Helen's sausages are deep fried. I don't know of any other places in this area that deep fry their sausages but it makes a world of difference. It's worth a stop on your way to work or to the beach. Get there early, they open before dawn and are closed after lunch.

Contrary to a previous poster who prefers an Italian sausage on a sub roll to the pork sausage and potato bread roll used by Helen's. I don't know about you, but I've never been served Italian sausage as a breakfast meat. I guess they will continued to be disappointed.

Helen's isn't fancy, just great basic food in a down home Elvis themed atmosphere. No snobs allowed!
