This was our first visit to this venue this past weekend and we wished we had discovered it much sooner. My husband and I were on a "date night" and as we try to make the most of our precious time spent together, we were so pleased with Banana Leaf. Upon entering, you are greeted by a wonderful host who was nothing but attentive, kind and accommodating. The ambiance was warm and relaxing. The service is second to none and is too often lacking in many other establishments. Now on to one of the best parts - the amazing food! We ordered the spring rolls which were delightful flaky pastries of vegetables. The golden fried calamari were exceptional and very tender. The wonton soup and seafood soup were very light and tasty. For the main dishes, we had the ginger chicken, stir-fried seafood vermicelli, and steamed basa fish. The chef(s) are truly amazing and they really know how to cook - I don't mean reheating something they've precooked or had frozen - the only words in their culinary vocabulary are "fresh" and "delicious". From your first bite to the last, you can tell the food is freshly prepared to order, and don't mind the cliche, but you can tell they put TLC into their cooking. The perfect end to the meal was the lightly sugared/battered pineapple topped with mango ice cream. The chef came to our table to check on our evening and it was such a nice personal touch. Both the host and chef and their staff are very hard-working and trying to make their livelihood into a success in a world of ever-competing and endless big restaurants chains that take our dining dollars for granted. Please spread the kind words and encourage your friends and family to try this hidden gem of a restaurant - they will not be disappointed. My husband and I will be sure to visit this place often.
