“Best dining experience at the beach”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

My husband and I were in the Rehoboth Beach area for the 2011 Jazz Festival. We chose Espuma for dinner one night, as they had a local jazz ensemble playing there.

We had fantastic service, prompt, efficient but not intrusive. The server allowed us sufficient time to enjoy the music, the ambiance, and our food -- each course.

The food: Superb is the best word to describe our meals. My husband had the paella -- which was spicy (alerted to such by our server) but just spicy enough to make it interesting. I had "tricked out salmon" that was wonderful! It was perfectly prepared and tasted as fresh as if it jumped right out of the ocean! We enjoyed a very unique desert, "Jay's Ice Cream Sandwich" which was nothing like an ice cream sandwich from the grocery store. Out of this world!

Our entire evening was worth every penny spent: great service, superb food, inviting music, and comfortable (but not stuffy) ambiance! It is not a cheap experience, but you more than receive your money's worth! We highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys a real gourmet meal! Jay Caputo, the chef, knows his business and presents it well!

“The best restaurant in Rehoboth Beach?”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

Chef Jay Caputo puts thought into every item on his menu. The flavors are so intense, exquisite and delightful. It's hard to describe how tasty the food at Espuma is. Their three day pork is a must-try and their vegetarian platter is also full of exciting flavors and combinations. Wait staff is polite, prompt, the vibe of the restaurant is upscale without being stuffy and everything tastes delicious here! Have eaten at Espuma several times and it continues to be one of the best, if not THE best place to have dinner in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

“Great chef, service, atmosphere; expect to spend $$$$”
Reviewed August 30, 2011

Espuma has a great chef, attentive wait staff and a bartender with leopard spots in his hair. The restaurant is relatively small with subtle lighting, rugs, drapes and art creating a warm decor. The menu is very creative and the appetizers and entrees complement each other very well. We enjoyed the paella, tuna and pasta dishes. The restaurant is perfect for that special occasion.

“The experience was worth it”
Reviewed August 29, 2011

After checking out the previous reviews decided to chance it for our wedding anniversary. Cannot say we were disappointed. Expect to pay at least $100 for 2 drinks, appitizer and dinners. Chorizo and goat cheese crepe to die for!! Truffled ravioli was delicious and pork cheek entree was melt in your mouth. It may be expensive but worth the splurge.
